Their story

Lin Health is a virtual healthcare provider helping people manage chronic pain through multidisciplinary treatment that combines pain coaching, behavioural therapy and digital technology.

Following an $11 million Series A investment, Lin Health entered a critical growth phase. To achieve ambitious revenue targets and expand into new markets, the business needed to rapidly build its commercial team across multiple US regions.

The challenge

After securing Series A funding, Lin Health needed to establish a field sales presence across Texas & California.

However, as an early-stage company, the leadership team faced a familiar startup challenge: every hour spent recruiting was an hour not spent building the business.

Without an internal talent acquisition function, sourcing, screening and interviewing candidates fell directly to the executive team, including the CEO and Chief Commercial Officer.

At the same time, these weren’t straightforward sales hires.

Clinical Partnerships Representatives needed the confidence to build relationships with healthcare providers while understanding a new model of virtual chronic pain care. While technical capability could be taught, the right communication style, curiosity and cultural fit were much harder to find.

The business couldn’t afford to make the wrong hires or lose momentum while searching for the right ones.

The solution

Talent partnered closely with Lin Health to become an extension of the leadership team, taking ownership of the most time-intensive part of the hiring process.

Rather than relying on inbound applicants, Talent used targeted headhunting, referrals and an established field sales network to identify candidates in each priority market.

Just as importantly, Talent invested time in understanding Lin Health’s culture and the leadership team’s expectations.

Working closely with the Chief Commercial Officer, the team established a clear hiring blueprint from the first successful placement. This became the benchmark for future hires, allowing Talent to replicate the same quality and cultural alignment as Lin Health expanded into additional territories.

Every candidate presented had already been assessed for technical capability, motivation, communication style and cultural fit, allowing hiring managers to focus only on high-quality conversations rather than filtering through large volumes of applications.

The result

Talent has supported Lin Health’s expansion with specialist hires across sales, operations and clinical support, including Clinical Partnerships Representatives and Sales Support, while continuing recruitment across Revenue Cycle, Patient Enrolment, Data and Medical Assistant roles.

Key outcomes included:

  • Clinical Partnerships Representatives hired in under two weeks from candidate presentation to signed offer
  • One placement progressed from first interview to offer in just three days
  • The first candidate presented for the Sales Support role was successfully hired
  • Continued expansion into new regions with additional hiring already underway

Most importantly, Talent reduced the recruitment burden on Lin Health’s executive team during a critical stage of growth.

Instead of spending valuable time sourcing and screening candidates, leadership could focus on scaling the business, launching new territories and delivering against the commercial milestones expected following Series A funding.

By investing time upfront to understand Lin Health’s culture, commercial priorities and definition of the right fit, Talent was able to move quickly without overwhelming the business with CVs. Each candidate presented had already been carefully assessed for capability, communication style and cultural alignment.

For startups operating against ambitious post-funding growth targets, taking senior leaders away from the business to manage recruitment can create unnecessary risk. Talent helps growing companies find the right people faster, giving leadership teams more time to focus on revenue, expansion and the milestones that will determine their next stage of growth.

  • Time is our most precious resource, and Talent understood that from day one. They moved quickly without ever cutting corners — every candidate they sent over was already vetted and aligned with our expectations, so we weren't wasting hours on the wrong fits. That efficiency is exactly why we've hired 4 of the first 7 candidates they submitted. They gave us back the time to focus on building our clinic sales team, not chasing down candidates.
