Their story
Innovia Consulting is a US-based Microsoft Dynamics Business Central and NAV consulting firm delivering projects across North America.
With a strong presence across manufacturing, distribution and finance, Innovia supports clients with specialist Dynamics expertise and industry-specific solutions.
The challenge
Innovia’s growth created a familiar problem: as the business won more high-profile projects, it needed to find specialist Microsoft Dynamics professionals capable of delivering them.
The talent pool was highly niche. Innovia required Dynamics 365 Business Central professionals with deep expertise across areas such as manufacturing, supply chain and finance, as well as experience navigating the broader ecosystem of industry-specific ISVs.
Competition for this talent was already intense, and became even more challenging during the pandemic as demand increased further.
Innovia needed more than access to candidates. It needed a recruitment partner that understood the Dynamics market, could identify specialist talent nationwide and represent the Innovia brand effectively in a highly competitive hiring environment.
The solution
Talent began working with Innovia in September 2020 on a contingent basis, giving the team an opportunity to demonstrate its knowledge of the Dynamics market and ability to identify the right candidates.
The partnership was led by Dylan Cohen, whose specialist experience in the Microsoft Dynamics market enabled Talent to map the candidate landscape through competitor analysis, an established network and ongoing engagement with the Dynamics community.
Talent also worked closely with Innovia to strengthen its employer proposition. By identifying the attributes that made Innovia a compelling place to work, Talent was able to refine candidate messaging, improve advertising and position the business more effectively to specialist Dynamics professionals.
Candidate attraction was supported through a targeted approach that included:
- Specialist market mapping and headhunting
- Competitor analysis
- Existing Dynamics networks and community engagement
- Employer value proposition development
- Bias reduction throughout the recruitment process
- Barrier-free job advertising
- Specialist job boards targeting underrepresented communities
- Targeted diversity campaigns
As the partnership developed, Talent also introduced a retained campaign model designed to provide a more efficient and cost-effective approach to ongoing specialist hiring.
The result
Talent has delivered 22 specialist Dynamics hires for Innovia, including Functional Consultants with expertise across manufacturing, supply chain and finance, Business Central Developers and Support Consultants.
The partnership has also helped Innovia broaden the diversity of its talent pipeline, with 50% of hires coming from underrepresented communities, including female, Black, Hispanic and other marginalized talent.
Through Talent’s retained campaign model, Innovia has also achieved an average saving of $4,000 per hire, creating a more cost-effective approach to specialist recruitment as hiring needs continued to grow.
By combining deep Dynamics market expertise with a clear understanding of Innovia’s employer proposition, Talent has helped the business access the specialist capability needed to continue supporting client projects in a highly competitive market.
