The role
This is a 12-month contract for an Application Specialist, sitting within the Technology team and reporting to senior leadership. The role is a hybrid of systems administration and light business analysis, focused on supporting and improving core applications.

You will act as the bridge between business teams and technology, ensuring systems are effective, issues are resolved, and continuous improvements are delivered.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end application support across core systems
  • Manage incidents, service requests, and system enquiries
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and improve processes
  • Assess and manage change requests, coordinating with vendors where needed
  • Support onboarding, offboarding, and system configuration changes
  • Deliver reporting and insights to support business decision-making
  • Train users and support rollout of new services and programs
  • Drive structure, prioritisation, and continuous improvement initiatives

About you

  • 3-5 years experience in an Application Specialist, Systems Analyst, or similar role

  • Exposure to reporting tools (Power BI preferred; SQL beneficial)
  • Comfortable working in evolving, low-maturity environments

ABOUT THE ROLE
You’ll work closely with infrastructure and security stakeholders to progress Essential Eight uplift activities, including coordinating and tracking delivery of controls, supporting remediation, and improving the security posture across the environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gather and document requirements for infrastructure/security uplift initiatives (Essential Eight)
  • Support the uplift of applications into a Single Sign-On (SSO) model, including requirements, dependencies, stakeholder coordination and rollout support
  • Coordinate delivery of security controls and tooling outcomes (e.g., CrowdStrike, Splunk) and track progress across multiple controls
  • Support remediation activities across the Microsoft/EUC environment and workstreams
  • Produce BA artefacts (requirements, user stories, process maps, acceptance criteria) and support delivery through to implementation
  • Manage stakeholders, unblock delivery, and keep work moving in a fast-paced environment

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Business Analyst experience in technical/infrastructure delivery environments
  • Strong EUC experience (preferred) and Microsoft ecosystem exposure
