Opportunity
Our client is an ASX listed asset management and services company based in Melbourne’s CBD. They have a great opportunity for an Infrastructure Engineer to join on contract starting ASAP.

Role

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the management and maintenance of Wintel and AWS hybrid Cloud infrastructure that includes Windows Server, AWS, virtualization technologies. Project work that may include new infrastructure, upgrades, and improvements across a busy technology division.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Management, configuration, administration and maintenance of Windows Server operating systems (2016, 2019, 2022), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
  • Administration and support of AWS cloud infrastructure, including managing EC2 instances, S3 buckets, and Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs)
  • Management of virtualization platforms, with a focus on VMware and/or Hyper-V
  • Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues related to servers, storage, networking, and cloud services
  • Developing and maintaining scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to automate routine administrative tasks and improve operational efficiency
  • Participate in and lead projects to deploy new infrastructure technologies, implement security enhancements, and migrate services
  • Management of Sharepoint, and creating and updating technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles to empower the service desk and end-users
  • Ensure all systems and applications adhere to company security policies and compliance standards

About You

  • Solid experience as an Infrastructure Engineer
  • Strong skills in supporting Microsoft infrastructure including Windows Server administration
  • Solid experience with AWS infrastructure including EC2, S3, and VPC
  • Technical skills that include virtualisation (VMware/HyberV), scripting and automation skills, and understanding of networks and storage
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and other core Windows services
  • Previous experience with SharePoint
  • Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to write detailed designs, diagrams etc
  • Excellent verbal communication skills including engagement with vendors and internal stakeholders, and the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and users
  • Relevant Microsoft and AWS certifications and other relevant tertiary qualifications
