WHS Advisor
Talent International is currently recruiting WHS Advisor to work for the NSW Government, based in Parramatta. This is a contract role Up to 12 July 2027, with the possibility of extension, paying between $71.99 – $79.69 per hour + Super.
7 hours per day/ 35 hours per week
About the role
You will provide high-quality Work Health and Safety services across the Housing Portfolio, supporting a whole-of-lifecycle approach to safety and promoting a culture of risk awareness and safe work practices.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will provide expert WHS advice and support the implementation and improvement of WHS management systems and risk management programs. Your work will cover legislative compliance, contractor and supplier safety, consultation, audit, monitoring and performance reporting.
Key responsibilities
- Provide timely WHS advice and guidance to support compliance with policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
- Review and improve WHS systems, policies and procedures to meet organisational and legislative obligations.
- Conduct WHS audits and recommend practical improvement strategies.
- Support teams with hazard identification, risk assessments, risk management and safe work practices.
- Assist with investigations into incidents, hazards and near misses, including identifying and monitoring corrective actions.
- Coordinate WHS committees and facilitate internal stakeholder workshops to support consultation, communication and issue resolution.
- Prepare WHS performance reports and risk metrics for senior management.
- Monitor and report on duress system usage.
- Support WHS requirements relating to contractors, suppliers and procurement.
Essential requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in WHS or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience delivering WHS advice and support.
- Sound understanding of current WHS legislation, policies and obligations.
