We’re looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a large enterprise organisation on a contract basis, working across a significant technology modernisation programme.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, modernising applications and APIs, and improving the way software is built and delivered.
You’ll be working in a modern Microsoft environment with a strong focus on .NET, Azure, APIs, CI/CD and DevSecOps, while also helping uplift engineering standards across the wider team.

What you’ll be doing

  • Designing and delivering scalable C# / .NET APIs
  • Driving API modernisation and greater adoption of Microsoft Azure
  • Improving existing applications, integrations and engineering practices
  • Identifying and reducing technical debt and unnecessary system coupling
  • Helping introduce and embed modern engineering standards and best practices
  • Working across the full SDLC, from design and development through to deployment and support
  • Contributing to CI/CD and DevSecOps practices
  • Improving code quality, security and maintainability
  • Working closely with Product, Architecture and business stakeholders to deliver practical, high-quality solutions

What we’re looking for

To be successful, you’ll bring strong experience across three key areas:

1. Senior .NET / API engineering
Strong hands-on experience designing and delivering applications and APIs using C# / .NET / .NET Core, ideally within complex enterprise environments.

2. Azure and API modernisation
Practical experience modernising applications or APIs using Microsoft Azure, including cloud-native services, API integration and ideally Azure API Management or similar gateway technologies.

3. Modern engineering and DevSecOps practices
Experience across CI/CD, code quality, application security and modern software-engineering standards. Exposure to tools such as SonarQube, Fortify, Mend, Snyk or Checkmarx would be valuable, although equivalent tooling is absolutely fine.

We’re particularly interested in engineers who can talk confidently about what they personally delivered, the technical decisions they made, and how their work improved quality, security, performance or maintainability.
