Senior Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Consultant – Financials

Talent is partnering with Avec to recruit a Senior Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Consultant, specialising in Financials. This is a permanent position joining a fantastic team based out of Brisbane CBD & offering flexible hybrid working arrangements.

• Lead Business Central implementations with a strong financial management focus
• Help shape Avec’s growing Microsoft Business Applications practice
• Hands-on delivery, solution design and mentoring across varied client environments

This is a senior consulting opportunity combining hands-on implementation with functional leadership and client engagement. You’ll guide customers from discovery and solution design through configuration, testing and go-live, while contributing to the growth of Avec’s Microsoft Business Applications practice.

About the role

• Lead discovery and requirements workshops, translating business needs into practical Business Central solutions.
• Own functional design and configuration across financial management, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, cash management, fixed assets, budgeting and financial reporting.
• Lead delivery across data migration, reconciliation, testing, training, cutover and post-go-live support.
• Work with technical consultants and developers on integrations, extensions, security and environment administration.
• Build strong relationships with finance leaders and business stakeholders, guiding design decisions and managing delivery expectations.
• Contribute to pre-sales, estimates and reusable delivery assets, while mentoring consultants and supporting practice development.

About you

• Minimum 7 years’ ERP implementation and consulting experience, including at least 4 years’ hands-on experience with Dynamics NAV or Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Strong ownership of Business Central Financials, with involvement in at least two end-to-end implementations, upgrades or major optimisation programs.
• Sound accounting knowledge and the ability to work confidently with CFOs, finance managers and accountants.
• Proven ability to independently lead workshops, complete fit-gap analysis, configure solutions and prepare functional documentation.
• Experience with data migration, reconciliation, testing and cutover in a controlled project environment.
• Practical understanding of Business Central environments, permissions, extensions, APIs and integrations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, Australian working rights and the ability to travel to client sites when required.
• Experience with Power BI, Power Platform, Dynamics 365 Finance or TechnologyOne will be highly regarded, as will Microsoft partner experience, MB-800 certification and finance or accounting qualifications.
