We are seeking an experienced Senior Identity & Access Management Engineer for a 12-month contract with a major energy organisation based in Perth. Working within the Cyber Security function, you will deliver enterprise IAM engineering projects, resolve complex identity and access management challenges and strengthen the organisation’s identity security capabilities. This hands-on role requires an experienced Engineer who can work independently, manage competing priorities and translate business and Cyber security requirements into secure and scalable identity solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver enterprise IAM engineering projects and resolve complex identity and access management issues.
  • Engineer, maintain and enhance identity governance, authentication, access management and privileged access solutions.
  • Support Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and certificate lifecycle management services.
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand requirements, assess technical options and recommend practical solutions.
  • Develop and implement automation to improve reliability, reduce manual effort and streamline IAM operations.
  • Establish and maintain engineering standards, technical documentation and operational procedures.
  • Manage competing technical priorities while ensuring successful project delivery and issue resolution.
  • Contribute to identity architecture, technical roadmaps and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Share technical knowledge and support effective operational handovers.

Required Qualifications & Competencies

  • 7-8+ years’ hands-on experience in Identity and Access Management, security engineering or identity architecture within complex enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise IAM engineering projects in large and complex organisations.
  • Advanced Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory experience, including hybrid identity, Conditional Access, authentication and federation.
  • Strong experience with Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) solutions, preferably Saviynt.
  • Practical experience with Privileged Access Management (PAM) technologies.
  • Working knowledge of PKI and certificate lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated automation experience using PowerShell and REST APIs.
  • Strong understanding of identity protocols and secure integration patterns.
  • Strong analytical and technical troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex identity security issues.
  • Ability to independently manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Sound technical judgement and the ability to recommend practical engineering solutions.
  • Experience improving operational efficiency through automation and standardisation.
  • Strong technical documentation and knowledge-sharing capabilities.

Working Conditions

  • Perth CBD office location offering great WFH flexibility once established
  • Standard Monday to Friday working hours in state-of-the-art high-rise facilities
