Project Officer – Workforce Readiness & Reporting (APS6)

Our client is a large values-focused Federal Government Agency seeking an experienced APS6 Project Officer to support workforce readiness, project delivery, reporting and data analysis across a major program of work.

This is a varied role combining traditional project coordination with a strong reporting and analytics component. You’ll manage plans, risks, milestones and governance while also turning workforce and operational data into dashboards, insights and recommendations for senior stakeholders.

ROLE DETAILS:

Location: Richmond VIC
Contract: 12 months, with extension potential
Hours: Hybrid – 3 days WFH – 37.5hrs/week

Rate: $60.26 per hour + super
Eligibility: Australian Citizenship required

ABOUT THE ROLE:

You’ll support project and workforce readiness activities through planning, governance, reporting, risk management and data analysis.

A key part of the role is analysing complex information from multiple sources, developing dashboards and reporting products, identifying trends and risks, and translating data into clear insights for executives and stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones and governance activities.
  • Coordinate project reporting, risks, issues, dependencies and delivery progress.
  • Analyse workforce, operational and project data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Develop dashboards, spreadsheets, tracking tools and performance reporting.
  • Prepare executive briefs, reports, presentations and other project documentation.
  • Support budget tracking, procurement and contract administration activities.
  • Validate and reconcile data to maintain accurate reporting outputs.
  • Present insights and recommendations to support senior stakeholder decision-making.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Experience across project, program, workforce, operational or reporting environments.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups and data analysis.
  • Experience developing dashboards, reports, performance measures and tracking tools.
  • Strong project coordination, risk management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent written communication and stakeholder engagement capability.
  • Power BI or other business intelligence experience desirable.
  • Government or public sector experience highly regarded.
