ICT Project Manager

EL1 Equivalent | Applicants should only apply if they currently hold Baseline Clearance or above.

While this opportunity is for a current project requirement, we are also encouraging suitably experienced candidates with AGSVA clearances to apply, as we expect additional Federal Government ICT opportunities to become available across upcoming programs.

The successful candidate will work within a large and complex technology environment supporting enterprise ICT, specialised platforms and digitally enabled business initiatives.

You will manage multiple concurrent projects across strategic data, digital, information technology and platform programs, working closely with technical teams, business stakeholders and delivery partners to achieve agreed outcomes.

The Opportunity

Project Managers will contribute to initiatives spanning major strategic technology programs, including:

• Data and digital capability uplift.
• Enterprise technology and platform modernisation.
• Governance and ways-of-working improvements.
• Infrastructure and systems delivery.
• Organisational transformation initiatives.

This is a highly collaborative delivery environment where Project Managers will generally be responsible for three or more concurrent ICT projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multiple complex ICT projects simultaneously.
• Apply delivery methodologies appropriate to each project, including Agile and Kanban.
• Deliver projects within agreed scope, budget, schedule and quality expectations.
• Identify, assess and manage project risks, issues and dependencies.
• Escalate matters that may affect successful delivery.
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.
• Facilitate the development, review and stakeholder acceptance of project documentation and deliverables.
• Work closely with software developers, business analysts, test analysts, business representatives and technical specialists.
• Support and empower project teams to work collaboratively and effectively.
• Lead change management activities associated with project delivery.
• Manage the transition of new products and services into business-as-usual operations.
• Build productive relationships with internal stakeholders, clients and suppliers.
• Work effectively across geographically dispersed teams.
• Use project management and collaboration tools including Microsoft Project, Jira and Microsoft Office.

About You

• A minimum of three years’ ICT project management experience.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
• A strong record of delivering projects to agreed scope, budget and schedule.
• Experience managing stakeholder expectations across complex delivery environments.
• Strong project risk and issue management capability.
• Sound judgement when identifying and resolving project delivery challenges.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
• The ability to operate effectively with geographically dispersed stakeholders and delivery teams.
• Confidence working independently while operating within broader program governance.

Delivery Environment

The successful candidate may work across teams including:

• Software development.
• Business analysis.
• Testing and quality assurance.
• Enterprise technology.
• Digital delivery.
• Business stakeholders.
• External suppliers and delivery partners.

Experience delivering projects within large, complex or highly governed organisations will be particularly valuable.
