An opportunity is available for an experienced Program Benefits Manager to join a large NSW public sector organisation. You will drive benefits realisation across programs and projects, ensuring investment delivers measurable business outcomes.

Working within the Project Management Office, you will partner with senior leaders, business owners and delivery teams to identify, measure and track benefits from initial planning through to business handover.

About the role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the full benefits lifecycle, including identification, planning, measurement, monitoring and realisation.

  • Developing benefits realisation plans, benefit maps, profiles and performance measures.

  • Embedding the organisation’s benefits management framework into program and project delivery.

  • Maintaining the Benefits Register and overseeing business impact assessments.

  • Assessing risks, costs, issues and dependencies that may affect benefits delivery.

  • Conducting benefits reviews and audits, identifying improvements and reporting progress to senior stakeholders.

  • Translating measurable benefits into financial savings and operational improvements.

  • Supporting business owners to take ownership of benefits following project delivery.

About you

You will bring:

  • At least five years’ experience delivering benefits through program and project management, particularly within complex transformation, business integration or high-risk environments.

  • Strong experience developing benefits management strategies and practical measurement tools.

  • Expertise in identifying, benchmarking and assessing financial and non-financial benefits, including disbenefits.

  • Strong financial acumen and the ability to quantify savings and business value.

  • Sound knowledge of program and project management methodologies.

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing and negotiation skills.

  • The ability to manage competing priorities, resolve complex issues and work effectively through ambiguity.

Eligibility and pre-employment requirements

Applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, or New Zealand citizens holding a current New Zealand passport.

Pre-employment requirements include a National Police Check, Baseline National Security Clearance and two reference checks.

The role is 40 hours per week.
