We’re seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer to lead complex initiatives that deliver impactful outcomes. This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to influence strategic technology deployment, collaborate with passionate teams, and work on initiatives that truly make a difference.

As a key member of our organization, you will oversee the design, development, deployment, and support of our Cloud & Data Infrastructure, ensuring scalable and efficient solutions aligned with best practices. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, manage stakeholder relationships, and lead high-impact projects in a hybrid working environment across multiple locations.

Required Skills:

  • Extensive hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure and services, with a proven ability to design and manage scalable cloud solutions.
  • Strong background in DevOps practices, including tools like GitLab, GitHub, Artifactory, and Jira, for continuous integration and deployment.
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform for automated provisioning and management.
  • Proficiency in version control systems like Git and agile development methodologies.
  • Ability to write and maintain complex code in Python, JavaScript, and Golang.
  • Deep knowledge of containerization, Kubernetes, and Docker for efficient application delivery.
  • Proven track record of leading large, strategic technical projects with high autonomy and strategic impact.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience with database deployment and administration, especially Postgres and MySQL.
  • Skills in Azure cloud infrastructure and multi-cloud strategies.
  • Strong understanding of network architecture in cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with HashiCorp Vault for securing sensitive data.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Significant leadership experience in senior engineering roles or equivalent, especially within government or large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex projects and stakeholder engagement at a senior level.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance.
  • Willingness to work a hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 days in-office per week, with flexible arrangements.
  • Australian citizenship is mandatory, with valid evidence required for pre-engagement checks.
