Lead the transition of a complex enterprise Check Point environment

This is an outstanding contract opportunity for a senior Check Point Security Specialist to take technical ownership of a business-critical enterprise firewall environment.

You will lead discovery and due diligence, assess the existing security posture, transfer knowledge to internal teams and help define the future-state firewall solution. The position combines deep hands-on engineering with technical leadership, stakeholder engagement and migration planning.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead technical discovery across the existing Check Point firewall environment
  • Document the architecture, configurations, connectivity, licensing and operational processes
  • Assess the environment’s security posture, supportability and ongoing management requirements
  • Identify technical risks, dependencies and service gaps
  • Coordinate knowledge transfer from the incumbent service provider
  • Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for Check Point firewalls
  • Develop practical options and recommendations for a secure, scalable and cost-effective future-state solution
  • Support the planning and migration of existing firewalls to the selected platform
  • Produce clear technical documentation, findings and recommendations
  • Build trusted relationships with technical teams, service providers and senior stakeholders
  • Participate in an on-call support arrangement when required

What you’ll bring

  • Extensive hands-on experience implementing, managing, migrating and supporting enterprise Check Point firewall environments
  • Deep knowledge of Check Point architecture, software, licensing and network connectivity
  • Strong experience with Gaia, SmartConsole, Security Management Server, ClusterXL, VSX, Multi-Domain Security Management or Maestro
  • Demonstrated experience leading firewall discovery, transition or migration activities
  • Advanced diagnostic, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to assess complex environments and translate findings into clear recommendations
  • Strong technical documentation and stakeholder communication skills
  • Experience working in large-scale enterprise or managed-services environments
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced setting

Certifications

Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE) certification is highly regarded.

Candidates with CCSA, CCSM or an equivalent advanced network-security certification will also be considered where they can demonstrate substantial hands-on Check Point expertise.

Contract details

  • Contract: Initial six months possibility for extension
  • Rate: $165 per hour inclusive of super
  • Location: Brisbane CBD
  • Engagement: Full-time contract
  • Other requirements: Participation in rostered on-call support may be required
