About the role
Working with finance colleagues, senior stakeholders and external service providers, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading financial ledger operations, with a particular focus on month-end accounting.
  • Managing data integrity and reporting across capital, asset and CWIP ledgers.
  • Contributing expert advice to the preparation of annual financial statements and coordinating associated activities with auditors.
  • Overseeing asset accounting, including stocktakes, valuations, impairment assessments and useful life reviews.
  • Preparing financial and management reports, including advice on significant accounting matters and business initiatives.
  • Developing financial policies, procedures and internal controls to support compliance and consistent accounting practices.
  • Leading and supporting team members, coordinating financial management projects and identifying opportunities to improve processes.

About you
You’ll bring substantial financial accounting experience in a complex organisation, supported by sound technical judgement and the ability to lead people and manage competing priorities.
We’re looking for:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering financial accounting services at a senior level.
  • Strong capability across month-end accounting, financial reporting and annual financial statement preparation.
  • Experience managing asset accounting and maintaining accurate financial records across capital and asset portfolios.
  • The ability to interpret complex financial information, resolve accounting issues and provide practical advice.
  • Experience developing financial policies, procedures and controls within legislative and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to explain financial matters clearly to senior management.
  • Proven leadership skills and a practical approach to improving team performance and accounting processes.

A degree in accountancy or commerce, together with CPA, CA or an agreed equivalent qualification, would be desirable.
