Precision Welder/Metal Fabricator

An exciting opportunity exists for experienced Precision Welders / Metal Fabricators to join PRECISE MFG, part of the Stärke Advanced Manufacturing Group, as they continue to expand their precision fabrication capabilities supporting Australia’s defence, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing industries.

They are seeking highly skilled, hands-on tradespeople with exceptional TIG and MIG welding capabilities, particularly across stainless steel and aluminium. These opportunities will suit experienced welders and fabricators who take genuine pride in their workmanship, consistently achieve tight tolerances, and thrive in an environment where quality and attention to detail are paramount.

The Opportunity

Working within their fabrication facility in Edwardstown, you’ll manufacture high-quality, precision-engineered components and assemblies for customers across defence, aerospace, marine, mining, and other specialist industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality TIG and MIG welding across stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel.
• Fabricate precision components and assemblies to tight dimensional tolerances and demanding quality standards.
• Read and accurately interpret detailed engineering drawings, technical specifications, and welding requirements.
• Undertake complex fabrication, fitting and assembly work with a strong focus on accuracy and consistency.
• Maintain exceptional weld quality, finish, and structural integrity.
• Conduct dimensional checks and quality inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Work collaboratively to achieve production targets without compromising quality or safety.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across workshop processes and manufacturing standards.

About You

We’re looking for experienced tradespeople who understand the difference between general fabrication and high-precision manufacturing, and who consistently deliver outstanding workmanship.

To be successful, you’ll ideally bring:

• Relevant trade qualifications in Welding, Metal Fabrication, Boilermaking or Sheet Metal Work.
• Extensive hands-on TIG and MIG welding experience, particularly stainless steel, and aluminium.
• Proven experience producing precision fabrications to tight tolerances and exacting specifications.
• Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and translate them into high-quality finished products.
• Excellent understanding of welding techniques, joint preparation, distortion control, and fabrication processes.
• A demonstrated commitment to quality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• A reliable, professional attitude and genuine pride in your trade.

Highly Regarded

• Experience in defence, aerospace, precision engineering, or other high-specification manufacturing environments.
• Experience with robotic welding systems, CNC brake presses, or advanced manufacturing equipment.
• Knowledge of welding procedures, quality documentation, and relevant Australian welding standards.
• Experience working within AS9100 or similarly controlled quality environments.
• Previous leading hand or supervisory experience.
• Forklift licence.
