Online Safety Project Officer

Part-time contract | 3 days per week | 12 months with extension options

A federal government agency is seeking an experienced Online Safety Project Officer to support an initiative across Southeast Asia and the Pacific.

This part-time role is offered at 22.5 hours per week, worked across three days, with a maximum of 7.5 hours per day.

Key requirements

To be considered, you must have:

• An active Baseline security clearance

• Previous Australian Federal Government experience

• Strong project coordination and organisational skills

• Experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning

• Strong research and analytical capabilities

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Experience engaging with diverse communities and international stakeholders

• The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research and develop a baseline study of the online safety landscape across Southeast Asia and the Pacific

• Develop monitoring, evaluation and learning plans and supporting tools

• Track project activities, deliverables, risks and changes

• Draft progress reports, briefings, agendas and talking points

• Coordinate consultations, capacity-building workshops and related logistics

• Co-design accessible and culturally appropriate educational resources

• Build collaborative relationships with internal teams, government agencies and international stakeholders

• Support the delivery of project activities and objectives

Highly regarded

• Experience engaging with stakeholders across the Asia-Pacific region

• Knowledge of online safety or technology-facilitated harm

• Experience developing and delivering workshops or community resources

• A relevant qualification in international development, international relations, social sciences or a related discipline

• A current Working with Children Check

The role may involve international travel and exposure to sensitive subject matter relating to online harm.
