Network Monitoring Engineer
- 12 – 24 month ongoing contract within a Federal government environment
- Help set up the Enterprise Network Management Systems

Our client is currently on the lookout for an experienced Network Planning Engineer / Network Management Systems Engineer to join a major enterprise network modernisation program. This role will focus on the deployment, configuration and ongoing support of IP Network Management Systems (NMS) across complex Windows and Linux environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support IPNetwork Management Systems across Windows and Linux virtual environments.
- Deploy, configure and integrate platforms including Splunk, ServiceNow, Riverbed, Infoblox/IPAM and Grafana.
- Design and implement enterprise network management solutions to meet evolving requirements.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network environments using SNMP, NetFlow and Syslog.
- Troubleshoot networking and application issues across OSI Layers 1-7.
- Work closely with engineering teams and technology vendors to resolve complex technical issues.
- Develop detailed technical, implementation and operational documentation.
Skills & Experience
- 4-6+ years’ experience across network engineering, network management or NMS environments.
- Strong understanding of enterprise networking, TCP/IP and network monitoring.
- Experience administering Splunk, ServiceNow, Riverbed, Infoblox/IPAM, Grafana or similar NMS platforms.
- Experience with Linux (RHEL/CentOS) and Windows Server environments.
- Knowledge of scripting/automation technologies such as Python, Bash, Ansible, Perl or Shell highly regarded.
- Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, Splunk, VMware, Red Hat or Windows advantageous.
- Must be eligible to successfully undergo an Australian Defence NV1 security clearance.
