Talent International is currently recruiting for a Marketing Officer to work for the Local Government, based in Bankstown. This position is a contract role till end of Dec with a view to be extended, and the role pays $58.59 per hour + Super.

About the Role

The Marketing Officer will develop and deliver marketing and communication strategies that promote arts, cultural programs, exhibitions and community activities.

The position will manage digital and print content, support audience development and use visitor data and engagement insights to reach new and diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement digital and print communication and marketing strategies and materials.
  • Create campaigns to promote arts, cultural programs, exhibitions and community activities.
  • Develop strategies to attract audiences from diverse social and cultural backgrounds.
  • Review weekly, monthly and annual visitor and audience data.
  • Identify opportunities to increase audience participation and generate income.
  • Manage website content, electronic direct mail campaigns and digital databases.
  • Support the management and improvement of customer relationship management systems.
  • Work with internal teams to identify and implement effective approaches for engaging new audiences.
  • Monitor and evaluate cultural programs using feedback forms and other engagement data.
  • Work with communication and marketing teams to strengthen the organisation’s profile within the community.
  • Provide excellent customer service to community members and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop, implement and review communication and marketing policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development, delivery, promotion and evaluation of services, programs and events.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing, digital communications or a related discipline, and/or substantial experience in a similar position.
  • Experience within the arts, museums, cultural development, media or a related sector.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing marketing strategies, systems and campaigns.
  • Experience delivering digital strategies that increase audience engagement.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, stakeholder engagement and networking skills.
  • Strong writing skills, with the ability to adapt content for different purposes, platforms and audiences.
  • A flexible approach to responsibilities and working hours when required.
  • A valid Working with Children Check.

Desirable Experience

  • Public relations experience and established PR or media networks.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign or Photoshop.
  • Experience using electronic direct mail platforms such as Campaign Monitor, Mailchimp or similar systems.
  • Experience working with CRM platforms and digital content tools such as Kuula, Matterport or similar.
  • Grant writing and editing skills.
  • Understanding of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary contemporary arts practices.
  • Experience engaging multicultural audiences within a diverse community.
  • A current Class C driver’s licence.
