Level 2 IT Support Analyst

Wollongong | Five days onsite | Contract through to December 2027

Talent is partnering with a leading Australian manufacturing organisation to recruit an experienced Level 2 IT Support Analyst for its Wollongong operation.

This is a hands-on, face-to-face support role within a close-knit onsite team. Rather than sitting behind a service desk all day, you will work directly with users across a large industrial site, resolving technical issues and helping keep business operations running smoothly.

The opportunity

You will join an established TechCare team responsible for providing onsite IT support across Port Kembla. Issues that cannot be resolved by the Level 1 service desk will be escalated to you through ServiceNow.

The work is varied and includes supporting office-based employees as well as users working across operational and manufacturing areas. You will receive an initial handover and work alongside an experienced buddy while learning the site and its systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on Level 2 IT support to users across the Port Kembla site.
  • Manage incidents and service requests through ServiceNow.
  • Support Windows 11 devices and Microsoft Intune.
  • Build, rebuild, configure and deploy laptops and desktops.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, application and performance issues.
  • Provide both face-to-face and remote technical support.
  • Assist with rugged tablets, barcode scanners, printers, Wi-Fi and other onsite technology.
  • Work with internal IT teams and external service providers to resolve incidents.
  • Maintain accurate asset, incident and service-request records.
  • Provide professional support to employees at all levels of the organisation.
  • Follow all relevant site safety procedures.

About you

You will ideally have:

  • Approximately three or more years of experience in Level 2 IT support, desktop support or field services.
  • Practical experience supporting Windows 11.
  • Experience using Microsoft Intune.
  • Strong laptop and desktop build, rebuild and deployment experience.
  • The ability to troubleshoot common hardware, software and application issues.
  • Experience working with an ITSM or ticketing platform, ideally ServiceNow.
  • Strong face-to-face customer service and communication skills.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • The confidence to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
  • A current Australian driver’s licence and confidence driving around a large operational site.

Previous manufacturing, industrial or field-support experience would be advantageous but is not essential. Candidates from corporate IT support environments are encouraged to apply if they are comfortable working onsite in a hands-on industrial setting.

What is on offer

  • A long-term opportunity running through to December 2027.
  • The opportunity to join a leading Australian organisation.
  • A varied role with exposure to both corporate and industrial technology.
  • A supportive onsite team, structured handover and initial buddy arrangement.
  • Flexible start and finish times, generally either 8:00am-4:00pm or 9:00am-5:00pm.
  • Competitive remuneration based on experience.
  • PPE and an onsite work vehicle provided when required.

This position is based onsite in Port Kembla five days per week. Occasional flexibility may be available where genuinely required; however, this is not a regular hybrid position.

If you are an experienced Level 2 IT Support professional who enjoys working directly with users and wants to join a collaborative, hands-on environment, we would love to hear from you.
