Integration Domain Architect (EL 2 Equivalent) | Enterprise Integration Architecture & Strategic Technology Direction

  • Location: ACT-Based (Hybrid)
  • Security Clearance: NV1-Cleared (Mandatory)
  • Contract Length: 12 Months + 12 Month Extension (Based on the sole discretion of Department)

About the Position:

This is a senior architecture role for someone who is comfortable setting direction, not just reviewing individual solutions.

The focus is on shaping the integration domain architecture, defining the target state, strategic roadmap, standards and guardrails that guide how systems, platforms and services work together across a complex enterprise environment.

You’ll work across programs, projects and multidisciplinary teams, helping resolve architectural issues that cut across systems and organisational boundaries. The role also carries real influence into investment and prioritisation decisions, particularly where integration, cloud, data, security and digital platforms intersect.

At this level, the expectation is clear: provide authoritative advice, manage trade-offs, and help senior stakeholders make better technology decisions with a longer-term view.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and maintain the integration domain architecture, target state, strategic roadmap, standards and reusable patterns.
  • Provide authoritative architectural leadership across programs and initiatives, ensuring solution designs align with enterprise direction and security requirements.
  • Lead analysis of complex architectural dependencies, risks and trade-offs, and provide clear recommendations to governance forums and senior stakeholders.
  • Influence investment, sequencing and prioritisation decisions while mentoring architects and technical specialists across the domain.

What We Are Looking For:

  • 8+ years’ experience designing and delivering complex enterprise integration solutions, including senior or principal architecture responsibility.
  • Strong experience developing domain architecture, standards, patterns and governance across multiple systems, programs or delivery initiatives.
  • Broad understanding of integration, cloud, data, security and digital platforms, and how those domains interact.
  • Proven ability to influence executives, architects and delivery teams while resolving complex architectural issues and competing priorities.

Technology & Environment:

  • Enterprise Integration Architecture
  • Cloud, Data, Security & Digital Platforms
  • Architecture Governance, Standards & Roadmaps
  • TOGAF / Advanced Cloud Architecture Certifications (Desirable)

A Quick Note Before You Apply:

This role is unlikely to suit Solution Architects whose experience has been focused primarily on individual project or application designs without broader ownership of domain strategy, architecture governance and enterprise-wide integration direction.

The stronger fit is someone who can operate confidently at both strategic and delivery levels: setting the architecture direction, understanding cross-domain dependencies, influencing senior stakeholders and guiding teams toward consistent, interoperable outcomes.

Applicants must be Australian Citizens, hold a minimum NV1 Security Clearance.
