ICT Procurement Specialists | Canberra | 12 Months + Extensions

Multiple positions | Baseline clearance | Hybrid working

Talent International is seeking experienced ICT Procurement Specialists at multiple experience levels to support a Federal Government Department in providing ICT Procurement Services in Canberra.

The initial engagement is for 12 months, with two additional 12-month extension options.

About the Client

Our client is a large Federal Government Department seeking additional ICT procurement and probity capability to support its technology procurement activities.

The Department is establishing a flexible resource arrangement that will provide access to experienced procurement professionals for both embedded and ad hoc requirements. A key focus is strengthening procurement governance while transferring knowledge and capability to APS staff.

About the Role

Multiple opportunities are available across different levels of experience:

  • Senior ICT Procurement Consultant: 10+ years’ relevant ICT procurement experience
  • ICT Procurement Specialist: 5-10 years’ relevant ICT procurement experience
  • ICT Procurement Officer: 2-5 years’ relevant ICT procurement experience
  • Probity Advisor: demonstrated procurement and probity expertise

Depending on your experience, you may lead or support ICT sourcing, procurement, contract negotiations, renewals and urgent technology procurements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead or support ICT procurement activities in accordance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and PGPA Act.
  • Deliver sourcing activities, contract negotiations, renewals and urgent procurements.
  • Support procurement of software licences and technology-related goods and services.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop fit-for-purpose procurement outcomes.
  • Maintain procurement records and support reporting, governance and audit readiness.
  • Provide procurement and probity guidance to APS staff.
  • Contribute to mentoring, coaching, knowledge transfer and procurement capability uplift.
  • Support continuity of procurement operations where resource gaps arise.

Skills and Experience

We are interested in candidates with:

  • Demonstrated ICT procurement experience within the Australian Government or similarly large and complex organisations.
  • Experience delivering procurement activities under the CPRs and relevant Commonwealth procurement frameworks.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, commercial negotiation and contract management capability.
  • Experience supporting ICT sourcing and technology-related procurement.
  • Ability to contribute to knowledge transfer and APS procurement capability development.
  • Experience in procurement governance, probity and risk management.

Qualifications

Relevant procurement, commercial, contract management or related qualifications will be considered where applicable.

Eligibility / Other Requirements

  • Baseline security clearance
  • Canberra/ACT based engagement
  • Ability to work within the required hybrid arrangement
  • Relevant pre-employment checks will apply
