Talent is seeking an experienced HPC Linux Administrator to support high performance and research computing platforms. You’ll work with a specialist team maintaining the infrastructure that researchers rely on to run demanding computational workloads.

  • NV1 Clearance minimum
  • You can be based anywhere in Australia
  • Initial 6 month contract

What you’ll do

  • Administer and troubleshoot Linux based HPC clusters in a production environment.
  • Support Slurm scheduling, job queues and workload performance.
  • Maintain cluster management tools such as Bright Cluster Manager.
  • Investigate issues across compute nodes, storage and supporting infrastructure.
  • Use scripting and automation to improve the reliability and consistency of the environment.
  • Work with technical colleagues and research users to resolve problems and support ongoing improvements.


What you’ll bring

You’ll have strong hands-on Linux administration experience and practical exposure to HPC or research computing environments. Experience with Slurm and Bright Cluster Manager is particularly relevant. Skills in RHEL, Bash, Python or Ansible, along with parallel storage technologies such as Lustre or GPFS, would also be valuable.

You must hold a current NV1 security clearance or higher. Working arrangements will be discussed with suitable candidates.
