The Opportunity

Talent International is recruiting an experienced Full-Stack Software Engineer to join a major technology modernisation initiative with a leading Australian enterprise organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a large-scale enterprise environment, modernising business-critical applications, strengthening cloud and DevOps practices, and leveraging AI-assisted engineering tools to transform software delivery.

You’ll work across a modern technology stack including Java, Spring Boot, React, TypeScript and AWS, while contributing to innovative AI-enabled development initiatives.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Modernise and enhance established enterprise applications, improving performance, security and maintainability.
  • Develop and maintain full-stack solutions using Java, Spring Boot, React and TypeScript.
  • Design, develop and integrate APIs across complex application environments.
  • Improve automated testing frameworks and practices, including Playwright.
  • Work with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes and GitLab CI/CD to strengthen software delivery.
  • Support GitOps practices using Argo CD, pipeline configurations and Kubernetes.
  • Implement secure coding practices, including vulnerability management and software supply-chain security.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools, including contributing to a Codex-powered engineering assistant to accelerate development and testing.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking an experienced Software Engineer with strong hands-on development skills and a passion for modern engineering practices.

Key technical experience:

  • Backend: Java, Spring Boot and API development.
  • Frontend: React and TypeScript.
  • Cloud & DevOps: AWS, GitLab CI/CD, Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Testing: Automated testing frameworks, ideally Playwright.
  • Additional Technologies: GitOps, Argo CD and secure software development practices.
  • AI Engineering: Exposure to AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering workflows.

You don’t need to be equally strong across frontend and backend development, but you should be comfortable contributing across the full technology stack.

Experience with enterprise applications, legacy modernisation, application migration or regulated environments will be highly regarded.
