Finance Manager
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Finance Manager with a background in government, not-for-profit or a similar community-focused environment to join a well-established organisation based in Emerald.
This is a broad, hands-on leadership role responsible for the day-to-day finance function while also partnering with senior leaders to support financial sustainability, strong governance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the finance function across Financial Accounting, AP, AR and Payroll
- Oversee month-end and year-end financial reporting and statutory accounts
- Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes
- Coordinate year-end and external audits and maintain strong financial controls and compliance
- Prepare high-quality financial reporting for Executive Leadership, Board and Committees
- Partner with operational leaders, providing financial analysis and insights to support business performance
- Drive continuous improvement across financial systems, policies, procedures and internal controls
About You
- Demonstrated finance experience within government, not-for-profit, tourism or a community-focused organisation – essential
- CPA, CA or equivalent professional accounting qualification
- Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline
- Proven experience in a senior finance leadership / Finance Manager position
- Experience leading a finance team across multiple functions such as Financial Accounting, AP, AR and Payroll
- Strong experience across financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audit and statutory compliance
- Experience preparing and presenting financial information for senior leadership, Boards and/or Committees
