An opportunity is available for an experienced Workforce Modeller to join a major Federal Government transformation program. This role will provide technical leadership across workforce modelling, forecasting and analytics, helping translate complex policy and operational challenges into practical, evidence-based workforce solutions.

The role

Working within a specialist future-state modelling team, you will:

  • Design, develop and maintain workforce models, forecasts and analytical solutions.
  • Translate complex workforce, policy and operational requirements into scalable technical products.
  • Develop implementation scenarios and analytical insights to support executive decision-making.
  • Apply advanced problem-solving, systems thinking and solution design within an enterprise Microsoft environment.
  • Establish technical standards across documentation, testing, quality assurance and governance.
  • Build reusable modelling frameworks and solutions that can be maintained and enhanced over time.
  • Mentor analysts, share technical knowledge and strengthen workforce modelling capability across the team.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders to communicate findings, manage risks and support reform priorities.

About you

  • Strong experience in workforce modelling, forecasting, analytics or a closely related discipline.
  • Advanced technical capability in developing sophisticated analytical models and systems.
  • The ability to turn complex data, policy and operational questions into clear and practical solutions.
  • Experience designing maintainable analytical products using enterprise-approved Microsoft tools and services.
  • Strong knowledge of technical documentation, testing, quality assurance and governance practices.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership, including mentoring and capability development.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to present authoritative advice on complex matters.
  • The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and operate effectively in a changing environment.
  • Australian Citizenship is a mandatory requirement to be eligible for this federal government role.

Additional information

This is an EL1-level contract through to 31 December 2027, offering hybrid working arrangements. Successful candidates will be required to complete relevant pre-engagement screening and role-specific checks.
