EL1 Project Manager | ICT Systems Delivery

  • 12-month contract with likely extension

  • Richmond, Victoria – can also be based in Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane or Adelaide

We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to join a federal government agency and deliver complex ICT systems projects. This role would suit someone with 5-8 years of experience who enjoys bringing business teams, technical specialists and vendors together to keep delivery moving.

You’ll manage enterprise platform implementations across integration, data migration, testing and deployment, ensuring the technology and business are ready for the transition into production.

What you’ll be doing

  • Developing and managing integrated project plans, schedules, milestones and critical paths across business, technology and vendor workstreams.
  • Identifying and resolving risks, issues and dependencies, particularly across environments, data, integrations, testing and deployment.
  • Managing vendor commitments against contracts, Statements of Work, acceptance criteria and agreed delivery schedules.
  • Preparing clear project reporting, executive briefs and governance papers that support timely decisions.
  • Managing budgets, monitoring expenditure and coordinating procurement and contract management activities.
  • Working with business and technical teams to coordinate operational readiness, quality assurance and transition into production.

What you’ll bring

  • 5-8 years of experience establishing and managing technical ICT delivery projects.
  • Experience delivering major commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) or enterprise platforms involving integrations, data migration, testing and operational readiness.
  • Previous project management experience within Federal or State Government.
  • Strong planning, governance and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to clarify ownership and resolve delivery blockers.
  • Experience managing vendors, commercial deliverables and dependencies across multiple workstreams.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and a recognised project management qualification, such as a Diploma of Project Management or SAFe Agile certification.

Experience in claims, insurance, compensation or case management environments would be highly regarded. Exposure to hybrid Agile delivery, business change and accessible design and development would also be valuable.
