EL 1 Assistant Director Strategic Policy

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead policy and reform projects from development through to implementation
  • Analyse complex policy issues, data and legislation
  • Prepare high-quality briefs, reports, presentations and correspondence
  • Influence and negotiate practical policy solutions
  • Lead and support a high-performing team
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify and manage risks in a complex and changing environment

The successful candidate will have:

  • Strong strategic policy and implementation experience
  • Experience leading policy, reform, projects or programs in the public sector
  • Excellent analytical, written communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Sound judgement and governance capability
  • Experience working with legislation
  • Knowledge of the disability sector, strategic commissioning or Commonwealth procurement would be advantageous
