Solution Architect – Digital & Customer Platforms

An established New Zealand financial services organisation is continuing to evolve its digital platforms and is looking for an experienced Solution Architect to help shape that journey.

This is an opportunity to influence the architecture behind digital experiences used by customers and internal teams. You’ll work across mobile and web applications, APIs, cloud services and enterprise integrations, helping connect the wider digital ecosystem.

This isn’t an architecture role where you’ll produce designs and step away. You’ll remain close to delivery, partnering with product managers, engineers, designers and business stakeholders to turn ideas and customer needs into secure, scalable and practical solutions.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll take ownership of solution architecture across key digital platforms, supporting teams to make sound technology decisions from early discovery through to delivery.

Your work will include:

  • Shaping the architecture of customer-facing mobile and web experiences

  • Designing scalable APIs and integration patterns

  • Connecting modern applications with complex core and legacy systems

  • Translating customer and business needs into clear, practical solution designs

  • Guiding engineering teams through technical decisions and delivery challenges

  • Ensuring solutions are secure, resilient, accessible and built to perform

  • Strengthening architecture standards, patterns and ways of working

  • Balancing immediate delivery priorities with longer-term technology strategy

The technology environment

You’ll work across a modern and evolving digital landscape that includes:

  • React Native mobile applications

  • Angular web applications

  • Microsoft Azure

  • APIs and enterprise integrations

  • Microservices and modern architecture patterns

  • Agile product and engineering teams

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for an experienced Solution Architect or a senior technical professional already operating at an architecture level who understands how successful digital products are designed and delivered.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Five or more years of experience in solution architecture or a comparable senior technical role

  • Strong experience designing customer-facing digital platforms

  • Proven capability across API design, management and integration

  • Experience connecting digital applications with complex enterprise or legacy systems

  • Practical knowledge of React Native and Angular environments

  • Experience designing cloud-based solutions, ideally within Microsoft Azure

  • A solid understanding of microservices and modern integration patterns

  • Knowledge of security, privacy, accessibility, performance and resilience

  • A strong understanding of software engineering and delivery practices

  • Experience working alongside Agile product and engineering teams

You don’t need to have every answer on day one. What matters is your ability to navigate complexity, ask the right questions and bring people together around solutions that can genuinely be delivered.

About you

You’re pragmatic, curious and comfortable working beyond the diagrams.

You can move between strategic architecture conversations and detailed technical discussions without losing sight of the customer outcome. You enjoy collaborating with engineers and product teams, explain complex ideas clearly, and know when to challenge, influence or find a practical way forward.

Most importantly, you’ll be motivated by the opportunity to shape connected digital experiences within an environment where your decisions and contribution will be visible.
