An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Data Engineer to join a large, complex organisation and work across a mature enterprise data environment.

This is a hands-on role combining data engineering, data warehousing and Power BI development, with a strong focus on the Microsoft technology stack. You’ll help enhance an established Data Warehouse environment, develop ETL solutions and deliver high-quality reporting and data solutions that support business decision-making.

What you’ll be doing

  • Enhance and maintain a complex Data Warehouse environment
  • Develop ETL solutions using SQL Server, SSIS and Microsoft Fabric
  • Build engaging and effective Power BI reports
  • Design and implement semantic models and operational data stores
  • Analyse and improve ETL and reporting performance
  • Support Microsoft DevOps CI/CD deployment pipelines
  • Work closely with business SMEs to understand and refine data and reporting requirements
  • Provide technical advice across data engineering and business intelligence

What we’re looking for

You’ll be an experienced Data Engineer or BI Developer with a strong background in the Microsoft data and BI ecosystem.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Strong Microsoft SQL Server experience
  • Hands-on experience with SSIS, SSAS and/or SSRS
  • Strong Power BI development skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric
  • Solid ETL development, workflow and data mapping experience
  • Extensive Data Warehouse development experience
  • Understanding of conceptual, logical and physical data modelling
  • Experience translating business requirements into practical data and reporting solutions
