Senior Business Analyst – Technology & Infrastructure

Location: Sydney

We are seeking experienced Senior Business Analysts to join a company in the aviation industry, supporting large-scale technology, infrastructure and systems integration programs.

This is a hands-on technical Business Analyst role requiring strong experience in requirements management, technical documentation and complex project delivery.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, engineers, architects, technical teams and external suppliers to translate complex business and operational needs into clear, actionable requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end requirements management across complex technology and infrastructure programs, from initial business requirements through to implementation and operational acceptance.

• Gather, analyse and document business, functional, non-functional and technical requirements.

• Develop detailed requirements specifications to support procurement, supplier engagement and solution delivery.

• Establish and maintain requirements traceability, ensuring requirements are clearly defined, validated and linked to delivery outcomes.

• Facilitate workshops with technical teams, business stakeholders and operational teams to identify requirements, resolve gaps and clarify dependencies.

• Develop current-state and future-state process maps, operating models and technical documentation.

• Work closely with architects, engineers, cyber security teams, project managers and external vendors.

• Support systems integration, solution evaluation, testing, verification and acceptance activities.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Extensive experience as a Senior Business Analyst delivering complex technology, infrastructure or systems integration projects.

• Demonstrated experience managing requirements across the full project lifecycle, including procurement, implementation and operational acceptance.

• Strong experience developing detailed business, functional and non-functional requirements and technical specifications.

• Proven ability to establish and maintain requirements traceability and manage changes throughout delivery.

• Experience translating complex engineering, operational and technical information into clear documentation for business and technical stakeholders.

• Strong experience facilitating workshops, challenging assumptions and resolving complex requirements.

• Demonstrated experience working with solution architects, engineers, technical delivery teams and external suppliers.

• Excellent stakeholder management, analytical and documentation skills.

• Ability to work independently, take ownership and bring structure to complex or ambiguous requirements.

Highly Desirable

• Experience in systems engineering and structured requirements management.

• Experience developing Concepts of Operations (ConOps), User Requirements Specifications (URS), Functional and Performance Specifications (FPS) and High-Level Designs (HLD).

• Experience supporting infrastructure modernisation, enterprise networks, systems integration or cyber security programs.

• Background working in aviation, transport, government, defence or other regulated and safety-critical environments.

• Experience with procurement documentation, tender evaluations, verification, validation and system acceptance.

• Knowledge of ISO/IEC/IEEE 29148 or similar requirements engineering standards.

• Relevant certifications such as CBAP or PMI-PBA.
