Talent International is currently recruiting Assistant Procurement Officer to work for the NSW Government, based in Burwood. The position is a contract till end of Dec, with the possibility of extension, paying between $40 to $50 per hour + Super.

8 hours per day/ 40 hours per week (excluding break, no overtime will be paid – less than 6 hours will be half day)

About the Role

The Assistant Procurement Officer will support the Operational Sourcing team by processing purchase orders, conducting sourcing activities and providing practical procurement advice to internal customers.

You will use procurement systems such as Beeline and ARIBA and work closely with Finance and Procurement Services, the Solution Centre and the Centre of Excellence. This is a high-volume role requiring accuracy, strong customer service and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately process purchase orders within required timeframes
  • Support end-to-end sourcing and Request for Quotation activities
  • Conduct sourcing activities using Beeline and ARIBA
  • Assist internal stakeholders with procurement processes and enquiries
  • Liaise with suppliers and stakeholders across the organisation
  • Troubleshoot and resolve purchasing and sourcing issues
  • Educate customers on procurement systems and processes
  • Maintain a consistently high standard of customer service
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives
  • Work across the broader scope of procurement service lines as required

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous procure-to-pay experience
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage high-volume work
  • Initiative and practical problem-solving skills
  • A positive, flexible and professional attitude
  • The ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers

Experience using ARIBA or SAP is preferred but not essential. Previous government experience will also be highly regarded.
