12 Month Contract | Albany, Northam, Carnarvon, Kalgoorlie, Kununurra & South Hedland | $55.24/hr + Super
Talent International is recruiting APS5 Local Community Connectors to join one of our major government clients across Albany, Northam, Carnarvon, Kalgoorlie, Kununurra and South Hedland. The 12-month contract pays $55.24 per hour + Super, with three roles available across Kununurra and South Hedland.
The role provides an ongoing local presence in the community, helping people understand pathways to disability, mainstream and community supports. You will work with participants, service providers and community stakeholders, providing information, gathering and verifying evidence, supporting plan implementation and helping build inclusive community connections.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with service providers and participants to gather and verify relevant information.
- Support access decisions, plan development and ongoing community supports.
- Work in partnership with communities and respect the culture and context of each community.
- Monitor participant plans and support effective implementation and expenditure throughout the life of the plan.
- Develop outcome-based community connection plans that reflect participant choice and control.
- Undertake participant check-ins, gather and submit evidence and information, and support plan variations where required.
- Provide community members with information about the NDIS, mainstream services and community supports.
- Respond to moderately complex enquiries and provide accurate information and advice.
- Complete administrative and support activities and ensure required follow-up actions are completed.
- Use ICT systems, databases and Microsoft Office applications to support service delivery and reporting.
Essential Criteria
Leadership
- Experience providing mentoring, guidance and support to new staff and other team members.
- Demonstrated proficiency using ICT systems, databases and Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and communities.
- Ability to work respectfully and effectively with First Nations peoples and contribute to culturally safe and inclusive environments.
- Demonstrated high-quality customer service experience in government, community or service-focused environments.
- Experience responding to enquiries, resolving issues and providing accurate information.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and confidence engaging with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and complete administrative follow-up accurately.
