Accessibility Experience Lead
- Shape accessible digital experiences across design systems, products and services
- 12-month contract + 12-month extension option
- Australian Citizenship required | Ability to obtain Baseline clearance
Join a multidisciplinary digital team focused on making online services more accessible and inclusive for people with different abilities, circumstances and assistive technology needs.
This role combines accessibility leadership with hands-on involvement across digital products, design systems and component libraries. You’ll work closely with designers, developers, architects and product teams to embed accessibility throughout the delivery lifecycle, rather than treating it as a final compliance check.
The Role
As the Lead Accessibility Advisor, you’ll help shape accessibility and inclusive design practices across complex digital services, establishing standards while remaining directly involved in how those practices are implemented.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading accessibility and inclusive design practices across digital products and services
- Establishing and improving accessibility standards, guidance, testing approaches and delivery practices
- Working with designers and developers to improve interfaces, reusable components and design systems
- Contributing directly to accessibility improvements across component libraries, Storybook implementations and digital products
- Leading accessibility testing and engaging with people with disability and assistive technology users to understand real-world experiences
About You
We’re particularly interested in:
- Experience leading accessibility, inclusive design or digital user experience initiatives within complex digital environments
- Strong practical knowledge of accessibility standards, assistive technologies and inclusive design principles
- Hands-on experience conducting accessibility reviews, testing and remediation
- Experience working directly with users and assistive technologies to validate accessibility outcomes
- Experience partnering with designers, developers and delivery teams to influence accessible interfaces, components and design systems
- Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation and advocacy skills
- Experience developing accessibility capability through coaching, mentoring, training, standards and continuous improvement
- Experience with frontend implementations, Storybook, component frameworks, accessibility testing panels or user engagement programmes would be highly regarded
