Job Description
Our client is a federal government organisation with offices throughout Australia. Due to growth, they are seeking a UX/UI Designer to join the team in their Richmond or Geelong office.

Opportunity

  • Market Day Rate $800 – $1050

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Gather and evaluate user requirements, in collaboration with product and business owners.
  • Conduct business, provider and participant engagement activities to maximise opportunities to co-design the requirements and outcome of each project. This includes changes to processes, systems, people and information.
  • Illustrate concepts using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps.
  • Design wireframes and prototypes are both low and high fidelity (mobile and web).
  • User research including usability testing.
  • Capture and analysis of data related requirements in collaboration with business analysts.
  • Achieve agreement and the formal sign-off of requirements by stakeholders and governance groups as required.
  • Influence project documentation to support the UI/UX requirements definition, e.g. requirements specifications,
  • process maps, service design artefacts, functional and non-functional requirements, change management implications, data and reporting considerations.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of a NDIA design system.
  • Produce deliverables in accordance with project schedules.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, and liaise with business areas and teams to recommend enhancements.
  • Maintain documentation, processes and decisions to support knowledge transfer and future enhancements including the team’s.

About you?

  • Proven Experience in the elicitation of UI/UX requirement techniques such as brainstorming, workshops, prototyping, observation, or interviews, and confirming or reporting on results.
  • Contemporary knowledge of UI/UX Methodologies and experience designing to meet WCAG guidelines.
  • Proven experience building rapport and maintaining stakeholder relationships, communicating confidently and presenting messages in a clear, concise, and articulate manner to senior stakeholders.
  • Comfortable with new ways of thinking about accessibility and enthusiastic about accessible design & development will be highly regarded.
  • Figma knowledge and experience

Role

The role
The Content Designer will promote modifications to the web services, manage web content, identify opportunities to consolidate, simplify, streamline, and continually improve our intranet footprints. They will support web publishers, Users and Managers to embrace and adopt services.
Content Designers ensure that quality content is being developed across teams, and that it aligns to the strategic objectives of the organisation while meeting the needs of users.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote change.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to undertake complex web content research, authoring, editing, layout, publication, monitoring and review Cloud related web content.
  • Collaborate with and support Cloud technicians, Managers, ITSEC, Web Publishers and Users, to ensure the web content is current, compliant, concise, relevant, accessible and intuitive on multiple Intranets.
  • Support continual improvement practices and ensure changes to web content are approved and the information reflects the agency’s core values.
  • Identify and support the adoption of web functionality, usage and reinforcement of changes.
  • Work with Cloud technicians to support and provide direction regarding the establishment of a new intranet.
  • Identify and investigate any web content security concerns, configuration and maintenance of system software to ensure optimal data security.
  • Work in a framework of legislation, principles and work practices including management of corporate information in accordance with the Privacy Act, the Digital Transformation Agency’s Digital Service Standard, the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and compliance with the Australian Government Information Security Manual.

Skills and experience

  • 5+years of experience in organizational change management roles, particularly in the digital transformation field.
  • Experience working with stakeholders of various backgrounds and seniority levels and technical experts to turn their knowledge into consistently written and presented web-based content, taking into account audience needs.
  • Excellent business writing and communication skills to effectively influence senior management decisions.
  • Experience using, administering and establishing a new or refreshed Intranet, migrating web content and using web-based content management systems. (eg Drupal, SharePoint).
  • Experience with authoring and editing content for the web, including understanding of web content accessibility, the need to adjust writing styles, and HTML tags and document structure.
  • Highly skilled in administering Drupal and SharePoint content management systems.
