We are seeking an experienced Test Manager to lead the testing workstream for a large-scale Human Capital Management (HCM) and Payroll transformation program. This role will play a critical part in delivering a high-quality Workday HCM and Aurion Payroll solution, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and business readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Test Strategy and Test Plan, including scope, environments, data, and governance

  • Lead and manage end-to-end testing phases, including:

    • System Integration Testing (SIT)

    • End-to-End Testing

    • Regression Testing

    • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

    • Parallel Payroll Testing

  • Oversee defect triage and defect lifecycle management, including prioritisation, retesting, and closure

  • Ensure full requirements traceability through a maintained Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)

  • Develop and review test scenarios and scripts, ensuring coverage of:

    • Workday HCM

    • Aurion Payroll

    • Integrations

    • Payroll rules and certified agreements

  • Provide testing dashboards, executive reporting, and test closure reports

  • Collaborate closely with business SMEs, vendors, and implementation partners

  • Support cutover, dress rehearsal, and go-live readiness activities

Skills & Experience Required

Mandatory:

  • Extensive, hands-on experience testing Workday HCM and Aurion Payroll

  • Strong understanding of Australian payroll, including EBAs, awards, penalties, allowances, and statutory obligations

  • Proven experience managing testing for HCM/Payroll transformation programs

  • Strong capability in defect management and cross-functional issue resolution

  • Ability to produce executive-level reporting and dashboards

Desirable:

  • Experience in local government or complex public-sector payroll environments

  • Tertiary qualifications in IT, Business, HR, or a related discipline

  • ISTQB Foundation or Advanced Test Manager Certification

  • Agile or Scrum certification

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a technology or related field.
  • Previous experience in application/system testing, particularly in a tech-focused role within financial services.
