We’re seeking an experienced Program Test Lead / Analyst to support a large-scale transformation program delivering new HCM/HR/Payroll, Asset & Works Management, and Safety solutions.
This contract role sits across three major projects and will be responsible for leading testing activities – including test strategy, coordination, and hands-on involvement across configuration, UAT, and payroll parallel testing (for the HR stream).

The successful candidate will ensure testing outcomes meet program expectations, align with audit requirements, and follow industry best practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a fit-for-purpose test strategy for the program and tailored plans for each project.
  • Create and maintain a detailed test plan including objectives, scope, schedule, and resource needs.
  • Design and review test scenarios, cases, and data to ensure full coverage of business and technical requirements.
  • Oversee and coordinate UAT, configuration testing, and parallel pay testing.
  • Lead a cross-functional testing team including internal staff, SMEs, and vendor resources.
  • Establish a RASCI for testing phases and ensure roles and responsibilities are clear.
  • Monitor test progress, resolve issues, and provide regular reporting to the project and leadership teams.
  • Use defect tracking tools to ensure issues are logged, prioritised, and resolved.
  • Analyse test outcomes and prepare comprehensive reporting for stakeholders.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve testing practices across the program.

About You:

  • Proven experience in test lead or senior test analyst roles on large transformation programs.
  • Strong understanding of software development and testing lifecycles.
  • Experience working across multiple workstreams (e.g. HR/payroll, asset management, WHS).
  • Skilled in UAT coordination, test case design, execution, and reporting.
  • Ability to develop detailed, structured technical documentation.
  • Strong leadership, prioritisation, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication – both written and verbal.
  • High-level understanding of relevant technical environments and platforms.
  • Comfortable working with internal and vendor teams in a complex delivery environment.

The Opportunity
Our client is a community focused federal government agency. They have an exciting opportunity for a EL1 Test Lead to join the team.

Initial approval for 12 months from initial employment, with the potential to extend, paying a daily rate of $602.55 + Superannuation.

Requirements:

  • Leading testing of PACE including: planning, preparing and delivering user acceptance testing (UAT) and business verification testing (BVT) for product releases
  • Undertaking quality management and testing assurance activities through the preparation and review of test strategies, plans, accessible test scripts in Easy English, coverage matrices and sign off reports.
  • Managing and supporting Participants and their representatives; and registered providers to undertake UAT and BVT.
  • Working with IT team to ensure environment and test cases are available for testing.
