Position Overview
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Cloud Security Engineer to support the delivery of secure, scalable cloud solutions within a large and complex enterprise environment. Working within a collaborative Agile team, you will play a key role in securing modern AWS cloud platforms and AI-enabled solutions that enhance organisational capability and operational outcomes. This position will see you working alongside technical specialists across cloud engineering, platform operations, and security disciplines to design, implement, and maintain secure-by-design cloud environments and automated security controls.

Key Duties

  • Design and implement secure AWS cloud infrastructure and security controls
  • Apply security best practices across IAM, encryption, logging, networking, and infrastructure hardening
  • Secure AI/ML platforms, models, data, and supporting infrastructure from misuse and attack
  • Implement and automate security controls using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible
  • Perform container and Kubernetes security activities including RBAC design, namespace isolation, pod security standards, and image hardening
  • Detect and remediate cloud misconfigurations and security vulnerabilities
  • Support DevSecOps and CI/CD practices within cloud delivery environments
  • Collaborate with engineering, delivery, and security teams to ensure alignment with security policies and compliance requirements
  • Contribute to documentation, solution design, operational procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Mentor and support team members to uplift cloud security capability and best practices

Skills and Experience Required

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience securing cloud-based systems and environments
  • Hands-on experience securing AI systems, cloud platforms, and enterprise workloads
  • Strong AWS cloud security knowledge including IAM, networking, compute, and storage security
  • Experience implementing DevSecOps practices and automated security tooling
  • Strong Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform and/or Ansible
  • Experience with Kubernetes security, container hardening, and cloud-native security controls
  • Knowledge of cloud security compliance frameworks including ASD Essential Eight, ISM, and ISO27001
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, and version control practices
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work effectively in Agile delivery environments
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • AWS Security certifications highly regarded

This program is focused on modernising roster-to-pay processes through the rollout of enterprise workforce management technologies, integrated rostering platforms and SAP-based workforce systems across multiple business units and stakeholder groups.
