Our client is a federal agency charged with the unique role to investigate and protect the Commonwealth of Australia. Located centrally in Canberra, their primary remit is to build a secure future for Australia through the management of crime, terrorism and national security.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Desktop Engineer to support a high-profile transition program delivering a secure, standardised desktop environment. This role is critical to the successful build, deployment and ongoing support of a hardened desktop SOE used in a complex and sensitive operational environment. You will work closely with technical stakeholders, contribute to capability uplift, and play a key role in delivering a robust end-user platform.

Your duties will include:

  • Building, configuring, testing and maintaining a hardened Linux desktop SOE
  • Deploying SOE environments to desktop devices using automated tools and processes
  • Troubleshooting desktop and SOE-related technical issues and performing regular updates
  • Providing hands-on technical support to end users
  • Contributing to documentation and ensuring compliance with internal policies
  • Providing knowledge transfer and technical guidance to team members

Skills and Experience we are looking for:

  • Proven experience with Linux desktop operating systems, particularly Ubuntu/Debian
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and maintaining hardened desktop SOE environments
  • Strong knowledge of SOE deployment automation and remote device management
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar desktop or infrastructure engineering role
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively onsite
  • Relevant ICT qualifications or equivalent demonstrated professional experience

The Role

This role provides frontline technical support to critical cyber capability platforms that underpin training, exercises, and operations. As a Systems Administrator (Field Service Representative), you’ll work hands-on across infrastructure, environments, and endpoints-supporting maintenance, upgrades, and operational readiness while engaging closely with product, maintenance, and operations teams nationwide.

Your duties will include:

  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support across supported systems and product lines
  • Maintain and administer DCR and SDTE infrastructure and endpoints in line with defined maintenance frameworks
  • Perform scheduled maintenance, monitoring, patching, and fault resolution in accordance with the Maintenance Management System
  • Support upgrades, updates, testing, and evaluation activities across environments
  • Conduct auditing and asset management of materiel at unit locations
  • Deliver on-site and remote support, including participation in exercises and operational activities as required

Skills and Experience we are looking for:

  • Demonstrated experience in IT / Systems Administration across physical and virtual network devices
  • Prior experience working within ADF systems and networks
  • Ability to operate effectively in cross-functional or project-based teams
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to work productively under limited supervision
  • Certified SAFe® Practitioner (mandatory – can be completed upon engagement)
  • Ability to hold and maintain PV security clearance

A startup company within the prop-tech space, is looking to add a Software Engineering Manager to their growing team. Shaking up the commercial real estate space, their exciting product focuses on helping property owners and managers cut energy costs and emissions.

This role will be open for remote candidates located within the eastern time zone.

The Role Responsibilities:

  • Manage a group of 6-8 software engineers across multiple teams focused on different internal projects and tasks
  • Conduct regular check-ins and feedback sessions on areas of improvement around contributions to product they’re working on
  • Collaborate with Product Team on projects with engineers assigned to determine prioritization and team adjustments to meet task achievements and goals
  • Ensuring cross-team projects are properly scheduled for optimal delivery time on technical projects where you are the lead
  • Code reviews and discussions with engineers to ensure architectural implementation details
  • Evaluate severity of product bugs and technical issues to document impact and correct prioritization

Required Experience:

  • Programming experience with Go and React
  • 2+ Years of managing a team of at least 4 engineers
  • Experience with managing remote/off shore resources and team members
  • Experience interviewing and hiring engineers for a growing team
  • Has worked in a startup environment previously
