An experienced ICT professional is required to support, sustain, and enhance critical network and software systems within a secure operational environment. This role combines hands-on technical support, systems integration, compliance activities, and stakeholder engagement to ensure mission-critical capabilities remain reliable, secure, and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide network and software engineering support for operational ICT systems.
  • Support system integration, testing, verification, and capability enhancements.
  • Manage technical issues, sustainment activities, and vendor engagement.
  • Contribute to governance, compliance, accreditation, and security requirements.
  • Deliver technical advice, documentation, training, and stakeholder support.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Network Engineering, ICT Support, and/or Software Engineering roles within complex and highly regulated operational environments.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of ICT maintenance, system governance, assurance processes, and end-to-end capability lifecycle management, including accreditation and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated capability in system verification and validation activities, compliance assessment against recognised standards, and support of operational accreditation requirements.
  • Experience delivering ICT sustainment, system integration, testing, evaluation, and continuous capability improvement initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of Defence acquisition, governance, and capability management frameworks, including relevant policy and business management processes.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting or working within the 4th Squadron network environment.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring and training technical personnel.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, support arrangements, and service delivery.

Infrastructure Engineer

You’ll design, deploy, and support Azure, Microsoft 365, virtualisation, and on-premises environments while contributing to projects, migrations, managed services, and technical leadership. Ideal for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer seeking variety and growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy server, storage and virtualisation solutions aligned to client requirements and industry best practices
  • Perform migrations to cloud platforms, including Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance
  • Develop and maintain high-quality technical documentation including low-level designs and as-builts
  • Proactive administration of on-premise and cloud infrastructure including the deployment of patches, firmware updates, and configuration changes in accordance with established change management processes
  • Monitor infrastructure health using monitoring tools, and respond to alerts to ensure system availability, performance, and security
  • Provide L2/L3 support, root-cause analysis and incident response
  • Assist with training, mentoring, and support L1/L2 ICT Support Engineers.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years’ experience in infrastructure engineering within an MSP, integrator or enterprise environment
  • Strong understanding of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy
  • Strong understanding of VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Sound knowledge of Storage solutions (SAN/NAS) and backup platforms
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, and Entra ID (Azure AD)
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (VLANs, routing, firewalls)
  • Hands-on experience with RMM/PSA platforms (Autotask, Datto, Kaseya, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-first mindset
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (ASD Essential Eight preferred)

Nice to Have

  • Experience contributing to or delivering infrastructure projects within structured project frameworks
  • Relevant certifications (Microsoft, VMware, Veeam, or equivalent)
  • Scripting/automation experience (PowerShell, Python, Ansible)
  • Exposure to in-vehicle computing or operational technology environments
