I am looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to come on board within a newly established team who have been charged with a full and complete platform modernisation. You will be responsible for typing together their consolidated platform approach from Development to Operations. This includes the environment, build and release processes using Terraform, GitHub CI/CD, and establishing mature usage and adoption of their CI/CD tooling across the organisation.

What you will bring:

  • Proven significant experience designing, deploying and maintaining infrastructure required for CI/CD environments with tools such as Jenkins, GitHub or Azure DevOps
  • Proficient in scripting and programming with languages such as Python, PowerShell, C# and JavaScript
  • Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform and/or CloudFormation
  • Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
  • Hands-on experience within cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
  • Experience working within a complex technical environment
  • Excellent communications – both written and verbal

Responsibilities:

  • Extensive experience with MS Azure Platform and in implementing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for Azure-based applications in Azure DevOps leveraging Git based source control.
  • Extensive experience in deploying PaaS solutions, APIs, and in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using ARM templates, BICEP and Terraform to provision and manage Azure resources efficiently.
  • Advanced scripting skills in PowerShell for automation and complex task execution.
  • Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing secure software delivery pipelines by integrating application security tooling (such as SAST, DAST and dependency vulnerability management) into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with provisioning Sitecore topologies like Experience Platform (XP) and/or Experience Management (XM) on Azure App Services (PaaS) or Containers with Kubernetes using IaC is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of C#, .Net Core and .Net Framework.
  • Good understanding of networking and network protocol will be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and implementing security practices.

Certifications:

  • Azure certifications (e.g. AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-400) a plus

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced, cross-functional Platform Engineer to join our client’s team. This role requires a dynamic individual who is highly motivated and has a deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC). The Platform Engineer works closely with Platform Specialists to receive and analyse detailed business/user requirement specifications and will be responsible for solution design and development. They will transform the detailed requirements into a complete, detailed systems design document and will assist with the implementation preparation and implementation of the solution into a production environment.

Key responsibilities of the position:

  • Deliver technical solutions to clients and take responsibility for the standards of work, and client satisfaction.
  • Work closely with Platform Specialists to receive detailed business/user requirement specifications that identify the goals of the program.
  • Assist with the preparation of a technical requirements document, including systems and flowcharts.
  • Act as a key project team member charged with the analysis of user and technical requirements, specifications development, solution design and development, and in some environments may consult on testing and deployment processes.

Other Skills & Experience:

  • Convert a design into a complete information system. This includes acquiring and installing the systems environment, with new or existing hardware, packaged and custom software, and communications infrastructure.
  • Ensure that throughout the development phase, the process is documented including the development procedures for application use and security.
  • Work with the required teams to assist with the installation and deployment of the application.

Our client is a local government organisation. Due to new projects and growth, they are seeking a Cloud Engineer to join their team. This role reports to Operation Team Leader and you will need solid experience in public cloud/data centre technology and hands-on experience to cover every aspect of cloud service. This position could be described as an “allrounder” as the client would like systems administration experience in a MS environment. You will also need to work with external partners and consultants in various cloud-based projects to support pipeline design with the DevOps/Data engineers in other teams.

Our client offers a hybrid work arrangement (3 days on site 2 from home) a friendly team and interesting new project work. They have a standard working week and a family friendly work arrangement. There is an opportunity to be involved in system design and move more into solution architecture in the future. This will be an initial 6-month contract with the view of extension or permanency.
