The Role:
Lead the platform engineering function to ensure the client’s core applications are scalable, secure, reliable, and compliant. Oversee SAP platforms, Azure hosting, and app performance, while supporting delivery of new tech platforms. Manage onshore/offshore SI teams, and drive improvements in automation, reporting, and service delivery across operations, infrastructure, and project teams.
Key accountabilities of this role:
- Management of the delivery, resource allocation, and improvement of complex technical project capabilities across the client’s CMT SAP/SF area using Agile/Scrum methodologies for planning, stand-ups, demos, retrospectives, and the execution of sprints.
- Lead the delivery of technical services to the platform team on schedule and in a cost-optimised manner.
- Strong SAP Basis knowledge and understanding of SAP ISU/CRM and middleware technologies hosted in Microsoft Azure. Awareness of Salesforce DevOps and admin concepts will be an advantage.
- Manage vendor relationships involved in technical projects to ensure delivery aligns with agreed terms.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to meet key business objectives, applying influencing and negotiation skills to achieve desired outcomes.
- Responsible for involvement in Incident Management, Problem Management, and other ITIL practices within SAP technical and operational teams.
- Manage a team of onshore and offshore client/partner resources, ensuring optimal team performance and efficient scheduling of future work pipelines.
- Oversee technical design and decision-making, ensuring all SAP architecture and development standards are adhered to.
- Proactively identify, propose, and deliver platform (SAP & Salesforce) improvements, including optimisation and automation opportunities.
- Collaborate effectively with all team members and stakeholders to ensure alignment and shared success.
- Demonstrate client values by acting in the best interests of the organisation at all times and contributing to unified, impactful business decisions.
- Ensure adherence to all Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) systems and objectives in accordance with the organisation’s HSE management policies and standards.
- Support Incident and Problem Management processes within new platform teams delivered through the retail transformation program.
Qualifications, key skills and experience required:
- Deep understanding of cloud technologies, frameworks and cost models, preferrable Azure.
- A solid Delivery/Project manager with vast experience in delivering SAP Technical projects (Upgrades/Infra/Integration/Data Centre exit etc.).
- Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience managing Application Service Delivery and Operations in an outsourced environment.
- Consultative skills. Ability to define and articulate customer value propositions for products, technologies and solutions in support of SAP implementations, migrations, etc. (e.g. ERP 6.0, CRM 2007, Netweaver 7.4, BI, BOBJ, etc.)
- Strong knowledge on Salesforce Devops and admin activities.
- Exceptional interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
- Ability to influence stakeholders of varying levels of seniority.
- Deep knowledge of hosting SAP Cloud solutions within AWS/MS Azure platforms.
- Deep tech knowledge of SAP products and solutions on Netweaver 7.5, HANA, S4 HANA, SAP Cloud (HEC), SAP On-Premise solutions.
- Expert in designing and implementing SAP Landscape strategy to pave the path for a full CI-CD automation (Solution Manager, RevTrac/Charm etc.)
- Ability to lead technical teams or work independently as an integral team member or virtually, as required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills & attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of competitive environment and alternative tech solutions / approaches.
- Experience and knowledge with SAP systems and network management and knowledge with SAP’s System integration and implementation techniques.
- Experience and knowledge in Performance Analysis and Capacity Planning.
- Understanding of SAP implementations on Virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware, PowerVM, etc.)
- Experience and knowledge with Clustering and High Availability solutions.
- Experience and knowledge with ERP 6.0 Implementations on Windows, Linux and other operating systems
- Experience in automating Salesforce DevOps capability.
- Experience and knowledge with Databases such as Oracle, DB2, etc.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as an SAP Delivery Consultant/SAP Technical Lead/SAP Technical Architect, 3 full implementation life cycles in SAP Technical teams.
- Knowledge and experience in the Australian energy market/industry preferable
