The Role: This Government Department is seeking an IT Project Engineer to travel between sites to install data communication racks and liaise with builders and external stakeholders.

The Responsibilities:

  • Managing a project rollout across multiple sites, with a strong emphasis on onsite installations and adherence to project timelines and standards.
  • Setup and support of data communications racks, including the installation and management of copper and fibre cabling, as well as power infrastructure to support mission-critical systems.
  • Setup up LAN/WAN and wireless networking technologies, with practical experience configuring, troubleshooting.
  • Configure a range of ICT systems, including server administration, audio-visual systems, security and CCTV, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, network-attached storage (NAS), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and keyboard-video-mouse (KVM) switching.
  • Manage relationships with technical teams, project managers, and senior leadership, fostering collaboration and ensuring project alignment with business objectives.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • 5+ years’ experience in working as IT Specialist or Field Technician delivering ICT rollouts across various sites.
  • Proficient in the setup and support of data communications racks, including the installation and management of copper and fibre cabling.
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN and wireless networking technologies, with practical experience configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining enterprise-grade networks, particularly within Juniper and Cisco environments.
  • Possesses well-rounded expertise in a range of ICT systems, including server administration, audio-visual systems, security and CCTV, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, network-attached storage (NAS), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills is essential.

ESM DevOps/Integration Engineer

Our client is a federal government organisation with offices throughout Australia. Due to growth, they are seeking a EL1 Enterprise Service Management DevOps and Integration Engineer to join their team in their Richmond or Geelong office.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement ESM solutions that align with business requirements and industry
  • best practices, including integrating various enterprise systems and tools.
  • Design, develop and support backend integrations with AWS and Azure utilising components such as Power Apps, SQS, Lambda and SNS.
  • Provide technical support and training to users, addressing any issues or concerns related to the ESM platform and facilitating user adoption through effective change management strategies.
  • Develop automation scripts and plugins using such languages as Python, Java and Groovy.

Essential criteria

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in ESM or IT service management platforms such as Jira
  • Enterprise Service Management, BMC remedy or ServiceNow.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java and Groovy.
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud services.
  • Familiarly with CI/CD practices and tools such as Gitlab, Gitlab pipelines & Bitbucket.
  • Proficiency in ESM tools such as ServiceNow, BMC Helix, Jira Cloud, Cherwell, and other relevant products.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Desirable criteria

  • ITIL Foundation or higher ITIL level qualifications (e.g., ITIL Managing Professional, ITIL Strategic Leader).
  • Advanced certifications in ESM tools, such as ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist, BMC Helix Administrator, or Jira Administrator.
  • Experience with additional ESM tools and platforms, such as Ivanti, Freshservice, or Zendesk.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a large enterprise environment.
