Our client is looking for an experienced Design Manager to lead the technical design and delivery of major substation projects across Victoria. This role will be responsible for overseeing multi-disciplinary design activities, ensuring all deliverables meet compliance, quality, and safety standards.

You will provide design direction, mentor project engineers, and manage coordination across multiple stakeholders and design service providers to deliver technically sound, cost-effective solutions that align with customer and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage design deliverables for substation and line projects, ensuring compliance with all standards and specifications
  • Provide technical guidance and quality assurance across electrical and civil design packages
  • Interface with project managers to align design outcomes with scope, budget, and schedule
  • Oversee and manage external design partners and design house contracts
  • Drive consistency and integration across all design disciplines involved in the project
  • Prepare and review design documentation, technical memos, and reports
  • Conduct design reviews, workshops, and “Safety in Design” sessions
  • Mentor and provide technical support to project engineers and design teams

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical or related discipline)
  • Chartered Engineer (CPEng) or NER registration preferred
  • Extensive experience in substation and transmission design across the power or utilities sector
  • Strong technical understanding of protection, control, and primary systems design
  • Proven experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and design service providers
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant design or document control software
  • Strong focus on safety, innovation, and continuous improvement

Water Design Engineer

What you’ll do:

  • Lead hydraulic modelling of pipelines, pump stations, ponds, tanks, and borefields.

  • Prepare design packages including drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and MTOs.

  • Support construction through technical queries and vendor evaluations.

  • Ensure compliance with standards, project requirements, and regulatory guidelines.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and other engineering disciplines.

What we’re looking for:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering.

  • 3-5 years’ experience in mechanical/pipeline design; mining or consultancy experience preferred.

  • Mine dewatering experience advantageous.

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Competency in Visio and ArcMap preferred.

  • Full work rights in Australia.

A startup company within the prop-tech space, is looking to add a Software Engineering Manager to their growing team. Shaking up the commercial real estate space, their exciting product focuses on helping property owners and managers cut energy costs and emissions.

This role will be open for remote candidates located within the eastern time zone.

The Role Responsibilities:

  • Manage a group of 6-8 software engineers across multiple teams focused on different internal projects and tasks
  • Conduct regular check-ins and feedback sessions on areas of improvement around contributions to product they’re working on
  • Collaborate with Product Team on projects with engineers assigned to determine prioritization and team adjustments to meet task achievements and goals
  • Ensuring cross-team projects are properly scheduled for optimal delivery time on technical projects where you are the lead
  • Code reviews and discussions with engineers to ensure architectural implementation details
  • Evaluate severity of product bugs and technical issues to document impact and correct prioritization

Required Experience:

  • Programming experience with Go and React
  • 2+ Years of managing a team of at least 4 engineers
  • Experience with managing remote/off shore resources and team members
  • Experience interviewing and hiring engineers for a growing team
  • Has worked in a startup environment previously
