About the Role:
Our client is seeking a suitably experienced Spatial Engineer, to join the team to contribute to the successful delivery of the various projects allocated to the IST Directorate, via a Program Management function that has been established to ensure the subordinate projects are managed in a consistent and coordinated manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical leadership and expert advice on the complexities of Spatial Services, to provide support to the Technology Transition Implementation Lead as an integral member of the team responsible for planning and implementing the technical transition of production spatial services; that being the migration of users and their associated accounts, applications, data layers, underlying data and related integrations, from one agency to another, without production degradation.
  • Provide extensive knowledge transfer and training to permanent staff to ensure F&DD spatial officers can support the rapidly changing and critical technology associated with Spatial Services, post the project’s go live.
  • Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with operational and project teams, vendors, other business units and management to develop successful working relationships and deliver approved business requirements;

Scope of Position

The DevOps Engineers will be part of this upgrade project team with a Project Manager. The project is based in the organization’s contemporary mobility center, co-located and working closely with members of the MCC team.

Key accountabilities & skills

All projects follow an approved project methodology and report to the Cyber Security Program Manager and governance board.

The DevOps Engineers will have proven tooling, testing and technical skills. They will have strong cross-team collaboration and communication skills. The DevOps Engineers will have the know how to apply these sets of skills together to support software delivery objectives of MCC.

DevOps Engineers would have:

  • CI/CD practices
  • System Administration – monitoring, service capacities, operational states, backups, patching, upgrading
