AI Program Delivery Lead – Enterprise Modernisation

Contract: Initial 12 Months

Location: Eveleigh, Sydney
Working arrangement: Initially fully onsite, transitioning to 3 days onsite / 2 days WFH

We’re seeking an experienced AI Program Delivery Lead to join a major enterprise modernisation program, helping transform a large-scale legacy platform using AI-assisted engineering.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role, not a people-management position. You’ll lead delivery of an AI modernisation workstream while remaining close to the code-building, reviewing and improving an AI-assisted translation pipeline that converts legacy applications into modern, cloud-native solutions.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead technical delivery, sequencing, priorities and engineering standards.
  • Build and enhance AI/LLM pipelines, agent skills, prompts, context engineering and evaluation frameworks.
  • Deliver production solutions using Vue 3, TypeScript, Node.js, AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SQL/Db2 and Terraform.
  • Guide engineers through design, code reviews and production-readiness decisions.
  • Own quality and validation standards, including automated testing and CI/CD gates.
  • Coordinate across engineering, architecture, cyber, platform and business stakeholders.
  • Mentor engineers and establish reusable patterns, runbooks and delivery practices.
    What we’re looking for
  • 8-12+ years of production software engineering experience with demonstrated technical delivery leadership.
  • Strong hands-on experience with LLMs and agentic AI/coding tools in real-world delivery environments.
  • Production experience with RAG, vector search, embeddings, agentic orchestration, prompt/context engineering and AI evaluation.
  • Strong full-stack capability across Vue 3, TypeScript, Node.js, REST APIs and serverless AWS.
  • Strong SQL, cloud, IaC/Terraform, CI/CD and automated testing experience.
  • Ability to lead technically while remaining hands-on and accountable for production outcomes.
Highly regarded: IBM i/iSeries, RPG/CL/DDS, Db2, Python, identity technologies, change data capture, or large-scale legacy modernisation experience.

This is an opportunity to help scale a proven AI-assisted engineering capability across a significant enterprise transformation. If you’re an experienced technical lead who can combine hands-on AI engineering, full-stack development and delivery leadership, we’d like to hear from you.
