Overview of the Position
We are seeking experienced Senior Security Systems Engineers to contribute to a critical Cyber Security Remediation Program. This role requires highly organised individuals with strong communication skills and technical expertise to enhance the security posture of systems across multiple Australian Government entities.

Duties

  • Provide advice and implement security controls to enhance systems from Official to Top Secret.
  • Develop documentation for security engineering tasks, including SOPs, design documentation, and as-built-as-configured documents.
  • Facilitate and participate in workshops focused on security engineering design and remediation activities.
  • Develop and test prototype security configurations to inform advice and guidance.
  • Implement security controls in line with ASD’s Information Security Manual (ISM), Essential Eight, or other industry standards.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a Systems Engineer, with expertise in:
    • Microsoft Active Directory
    • Networking, Gateway or Software-Defined Networking
    • Cross Domain Solutions and/or Diodes
    • Sentinel or Splunk
    • Enterprise Linux, Unix, or similar environments (e.g., RHEL)
    • Cloud environments (SaaS, PaaS, or IaaS on Azure, AWS, GPC, or similar)
    • Complex Windows Enterprise Environments
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in hybrid or remote teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation and senior executive briefings.
  • Ability to provide direction and align tasks with strategic objectives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent industry training/certification.
  • Experience in identifying, implementing, and/or applying security controls.

We are partnering with a large, complex public-sector organisation to appoint an experienced Technical Delivery Manager to lead the delivery of enterprise applications across a high-visibility, city-scale digital program.

This role sits at the intersection of hands-on technical leadership and delivery execution. It’s ideal for someone who has come up through .NET development and now owns end-to-end technical delivery in complex enterprise environments.


The role

Working closely with Project Managers, Technical Leads, and delivery partners, you will be accountable for ensuring enterprise solutions are delivered on time, within scope, and to quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading end-to-end technical delivery across multiple initiatives

  • Owning technical planning, resourcing, sequencing, and execution

  • Managing technical risks, dependencies, and release cycles

  • Overseeing CI/CD pipelines, environments, and data migration activities

  • Coordinating technical work allocation with PMs and Tech Leads

About you

  • Proven experience delivering solutions in complex enterprise environments (on-prem and hybrid cloud)

  • Strong technical delivery and coordination skills

  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary technical teams

  • Solid background in release management, environments, and CI/CD

  • Excellent communication skills and confidence, engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Working knowledge of SAP and asset investment optimisation tools
