Key Responsibilities

Asset Performance & Asset Management

  • Lead the development, review, and implementation of asset management strategies for network plant and station assets
  • Monitor and assess maintenance activities to ensure effectiveness and compliance
  • Undertake asset failure investigations and develop practical improvement recommendations
  • Perform peer reviews of technical deliverables and reports
  • Mentor less experienced team members and contribute to building asset management capability
  • Prepare asset-related inputs for annual Regulatory Information Notices

Asset Management Planning & Governance

  • Develop and maintain asset management plans and procedures for distribution network assets
  • Conduct audits to ensure maintenance activities align with approved procedures
  • Develop and implement asset replacement and maintenance programs
  • Prepare business cases supporting capital and maintenance investment decisions
  • Support long-term asset lifecycle and replacement planning

Key Knowledge & Experience

  • Working knowledge of electricity distribution assets such as transformers, switchgear, underground cables, BESS, and EV charging infrastructure
  • Strong understanding and application of asset management principles (ISO 55000)
  • Experience with asset performance analysis, replacement planning, and lifecycle optimisation
  • Knowledge of Condition-Based Risk Management (CBRM), Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM), or similar risk frameworks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop evidence-based recommendations
  • Experience preparing strategic reports, business cases, and regulatory documentation
  • Working knowledge of SAP and asset investment optimisation tools
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and basic project management techniques
