In addition, they are the regulator of the Return to Work Scheme and play the key role of protecting the integrity and fairness of the Scheme by monitoring and enforcing compliance with the Act and providing education and support about the health benefits of work.

The Opportunity

ReturnToWorkSA is seeking a high-performing, motivated and experienced leader to own its data and analytics strategy/direction and drive the implementation of this strategy, facilitate data governance for the business areas, and establish a ‘data hub’.

The successful incumbent will be responsible for building and maintaining a highly capable data analytical function and providing business insights via a business partnering model to support executive decision making to ensure a sustainable scheme.

Through the provision of scheme and agent performance monitoring and analysis, premium rate setting and scenario modelling, the position informs and enhances the understanding of trends and claim liabilities and complements external actuary valuations and reviews.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive business data insights requirements and ways of working
  • Support the defining and establishment of the Enterprise Data Platform
  • Build and maintain a productive, collaborative and constructive relationship with the Digital and Information Group
  • Generating and signing off on data for the annual report
  • Decide on the appropriate release of external data within the annual report or on the website
  • As the Head of the Data Governance Council, make decisions on policies and processes
  • Inform and educate business teams
  • Decide on appropriate training and education for business groups and individuals
  • Engage consultants within sub delegations, publications and subscriptions
  • Liaise with and assist external actuary in their scheme valuations and other actuarial review engagements.

The Responsibilities:

  • Support team to identify enterprise needs; design, develop, test, and deploy mobile applications and APIs using modern development frameworks and tools, based on business requirements.
