    Position Overview
    An exciting opportunity is available for a Lead Data Scientist to contribute to the enhancement of a national data register supporting vocational education and training. Reporting to a senior leader, this role focuses on transforming complex data into meaningful insights that inform decision-making and improve the quality of nationally significant products. You will play a key role in advancing data capability, developing reporting solutions, and supporting continuous improvement across data processes and systems.

    Key Duties

    • Produce, analyse, and review high-quality data reports
    • Conduct advanced data analysis across multiple data sources
    • Cleanse, transform, and manage complex datasets
    • Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable insights
    • Identify and implement improvements to analytical methods, tools, and reporting outputs
    • Support capability uplift by sharing knowledge and expertise within the team

    Skills and Experience Required

    • Demonstrated experience extracting, interrogating, and analysing complex datasets from multiple sources
    • Strong capability in data cleansing, transformation, and working with database structures and data flows
    • Well-developed communication skills with the ability to present insights to a range of stakeholders
    • Proven organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise workloads and manage competing demands
    • Experience identifying and implementing improvements to analytics processes, tools, or reporting
    • PhD qualification in a relevant quantitative, data, or computing discipline
    • Current Baseline security clearance

    An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Lead Data Analyst to support a critical national platform within the vocational education and training sector. Working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, this role will play a key part in enhancing system functionality, supporting operational performance, and ensuring high-quality data outcomes. Reporting to a senior leader, you will engage closely with technical specialists and stakeholders to drive continuous improvement, support system releases, and contribute to the effective delivery of complex digital services.

    Key Duties

    • Support user acceptance testing activities, including coordination, defect triage, and validation of system functionality
    • Provide day-to-day support and advice to stakeholders on system operations and integrations
    • Collaborate with product owners to analyse requirements and contribute to system enhancements
    • Monitor, track and prioritise system issues using Azure DevOps
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
    • Develop and maintain system documentation and artefacts
    • Contribute to release cycles and continuous improvement initiatives
    • Share knowledge and support capability uplift within the team

    Skills and Experience Required

    • Demonstrated experience supporting transformational programs, including release cycles and user acceptance testing

    • Proven experience working in Agile environments and developing high-quality requirements for complex IT systems
    • Experience working with complex systems, including an understanding of system interoperability
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders
