Our client is a federal government organisation with offices throughout Australia. Due to growth, they are seeking a Senior Data Analyst with Splunk & Dynatrace to join their team in Richmond or Geelong.

  • 12-month initial contract plus 12-month extension
  • Hybrid with 3 days per week onsite
  • Federal government role – Australian citizenship required

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Monitor critical NDIA business systems using various monitoring tools, including Splunk and Dynatrace.
  • Gain a deep understanding of key business processes and their business impacts to monitor accordingly, as well as enterprise and system architectures.
  • Create and fine-tune monitoring solutions such as alerts, reports, and dashboards to identify, troubleshoot and notify internal technical and business teams.
  • Identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen and enhance the maturity of overall monitoring solutions and processes.
  • Undertake troubleshooting and root-cause analysis, including recommendations to system owners on solutions and improvements.
  • Perform daily health check processes
  • Use strong verbal and written communication skills to deal with both technical and business staff.
  • Undertake various data analysis and reporting activities.
  • Develop and maintain documentation on processes, policies, and configuration.

Essential criteria

  • More than 3 years’ experience working in an ICT monitoring or ICT operations role, ideally for CRM systems.
  • Demonstrated experience developing alerts and monitoring solutions using monitoring tools and log analysis platforms.
  • Experience identifying and implementing process improvements and continuous

improvement activities.

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Desirable criteria

  • Experience using Splunk.
  • Strong knowledge of different log formats, including JSON, XML, CSV, and plain text.

Senior Data & Integration Specialist required for a permanent opportunity based in Fremantle, Perth.

Role-

Reporting to the Projects & Business Systems Manager, this role provides specialist support in developing and implementing new and existing technologies and digital visualization capabilities. The role collaborates with business stakeholders to define and deliver how Fremantle Ports collects, stores, integrates, and represents data across platforms and systems.

Position responsibilities-

  • Planning and managing allocated systems analysis, development, and maintenance projects.
  • Designing and implementing integration solutions for the organization, as well as managing the existing integration platform to ensure they are current and meet business needs.
  • Participating in data conversion to ensure data consistency and integrity.
  • Liaising with system users and owners to provide advice on information technology options to address business requirements.

Required skills and experience-

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Technology Stack, including Fabric, M365, Azure, SharePoint, SQL Server, and the Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate, and Power BI).
  • Report writing skills using Crystal Reports, Power BI, SQL Server scripting, or similar tools.
  • Ability to translate high-level business concepts into specific technical work plans for development teams.
  • Experience in designing and implementing integration solutions using tools such as Oracle Integration Cloud, Boomi, and Microsoft integration tools.
  • Experience in managing change in complex environments (desirable).

Our highly valued client is a federal government agency. They are seeking an APS6 Data Engineer, you will lead a project stream of a data warehouse platform. This includes updating data development documentation, providing technical guidance to developers and reviewing/approving data designs and data models.

The role:
You will join a centralised team focusing on future process improvement, delivering data and reporting effectively with clear accountabilities, while building data literacy capability across the branch and regions. The team develops, governs, and maintains an enterprise data warehouse, reporting platforms and production content. They design and build Business Intelligence (BI) interventions and prototype analytic solutions and reports, identifying trends and drivers of performance.
Your duties will include:

  • Own the technical implementation of new data from analysis to delivery (designing and delivering data dictionary, defining the release steps, defining best practices of data modelling and review steps)
  • Facilitate continuous improvement measures in delivery principles, coding standards, documentation and provide training sessions to team
  • Prioritise work items and add them to a work queue
  • Understand, analyse and size user requirements
  • Development and maintenance of SQL analytical and ETL code
  • Optimisation and tuning of SQL code to ensure optimal performance
  • Development and maintenance of system documentation
  • Work within a state of the art, greenfield dev ops environment

Skills and experience:
To succeed in this role you will need:

  • Proficiency in AWS services related to data engineering: AWS Glue, S3, Lambda, Redshift, Athena, Kinesis, EMR, and Step Functions, Cloud Formation or Terraform
  • Data pipeline design and development using ETL/ELT frameworks
  • Ability to understand DevOps process and can use DevOps tools in accordance with the process.
  • Proficiency in programming languages: Python (preferred), Java, or Scala
  • Strong SQL skills for data manipulation and analysis
  • Hands-on experience in cloud-based data architecture and deployments and working with Containerized environments (Docker,ECS,EKS)
  • Teradata/Snowflake/Redshift/Databricks: Demonstrated Competency in Developing, Auditioning and reviewing code. Any 2 Technologies.
  • Strong EDW Design Concepts, ETL, ELT Knowledge.
  • Exposure to at least one ETL tool like DBT, Talend, Informatica etc.
