Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our federal government client for a long-term engagement. This role involves working closely with IT project teams, internal resources, SMEs, business stakeholders, and vendors to deliver high-quality business solutions.

Duties

  • Conduct business analysis and design business solutions.
  • Develop high-level and detailed functional and non-functional requirements, user cases, and scenarios.
  • Analyse and map business processes, user pathways, and information flows.
  • Act as a conduit between business stakeholders, project teams, and IT resources to deliver outcomes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities across IT.
  • Support the delivery of solutions aligned with legislative changes and regulatory functions.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Minimum 5 years of experience delivering business analyst services for government programs and/or projects (federal or state).
  • Demonstrated experience in technical writing, producing high-quality documents such as requirements, guidelines, process maps, and procedures.
  • Highly developed communication skills, including prioritisation, problem-solving, and relationship building.
  • Business analyst certification aligned with relevant industry standards.
  • Experience delivering change for vessel safety (road, air, maritime) or other applicable regulatory functions.

What you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years (Senior-level) experience with Node.js (modern JavaScript, async, ES modules)
  • Hands-on with PostgreSQL and Oracle (schema, performance tuning, queries)
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Comfort with Docker / Podman and Kubernetes (production-grade)
  • Scripting performance tests and analysing system behaviour under load (k6, JMeter, etc.)
  • Solid network troubleshooting skills – firewalls, proxies, TLS, etc.

Data Governance Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Data Governance Analyst to support the ongoing uplift of enterprise data capabilities for this utilities organisation.

In this role, you will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements, support data governance initiatives, and help drive high-quality data management practices across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with stakeholders through interviews, workshops, and process reviews to gather and document business and data requirements.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and validation to ensure data integrity during migration and transformation initiatives.
  • Assist the Data Governance Manager with profiling, classification, lineage mapping, custodianship analysis, sensitivity validation, and issue resolution.
  • Analyse current data processes, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend training or project-based solutions.
  • Implement and support data governance tools and technologies; interpret profiling outputs to flag data quality issues such as missing or inconsistent values.

Skills and experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Data and/or Information Management.
  • Proven ability to define and implement business and IT-aligned data governance processes, requirements, and roadmaps.
  • Strong track record in conducting data impact assessments and delivering on data management outcomes.
  • Experienced Data SME capable of working directly with business units to map processes, identify opportunities, and resolve data issues.
  • Deep knowledge of data management and governance frameworks and best practices.
  • Sound understanding of data protection and regulatory frameworks (e.g., NIST, PDP, Public Records Act, SOCI).
  • Hands-on experience with data governance and metadata management tools such as Alation or Microsoft Purview is essential.
  • Proficiency in SQL and other data querying languages is highly desirable.
  • Relevant certifications in Data Management (e.g., CDMP) will be highly regarded.
