Our highly valued client is a federal government agency. They are seeking a Mid to Senior Release Manager to take responsibility for the establishment and execution of Release Management processes for the release schedule of their core enterprise system.

The role:
Your duties will include:

  • Establish and maintain release management processes in in consultation with relevant Technology Services Division (TSD), business stakeholders, and third-party suppliers
  • Manage the release schedule, ensuring alignment with technical dependencies, business priorities, and compliance requirements
  • Conduct release impact assessments, ensuring the successful coordination and execution of releases for multiple applications across various portfolios
  • Oversee readiness criteria and go/no-go checkpoints, working closely with the business and technology teams.
  • Liaise with delivery partners for system implementation including internal teams, partners and commercial vendor teams
  • Ensure adherence to ICT change management processes, including cyber assessments, penetration testing, and change advisory board (CAB) representation
  • Manage and report on release status, identifying risks, dependencies, and key decisions to stakeholders
  • Serve as a key connector between release, environments, CICD, and delivery teams
  • Be a champion for continuous improvement, leveraging deep experience in ICT Release Management
  • Drive automation efforts within the release management processes

Skills and experience:
To succeed in this role you will need:

  • Proven experience of at least 3 to 5 years in establishing and managing Release Management processes in an enterprise business system context
  • Enterprise-level experience in managing Releases and delivering systems based on contemporary platforms and architectures (e.g. MuleSoft and Salesforce) including high level of integration to internal and external systems
  • Proven experience in, and strong knowledge of, contemporary project management, software development/configuration, testing, system delivery, governance frameworks and methodologies
  • Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives within release management processes, streamlining workflows, reducing manual intervention, and enhancing operational efficiency
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications; and an industry recognised qualification in project management, such as Diploma of Project Management; or SAFe Agile

Our client is a federal government organisation with offices throughout Australia. Due to growth, they are seeking a Junior Release Manager to join the team in their Richmond or Geelong office.

This will be a 12-month initial contract with a further 12-month extension, 37.5-hour week and subject to negotiations with the line manager, hybrid working arrangements in line with current client policy are available (minimum of 3 days each week in the office, with flexible arrangements in place for the remaining 2 days).

Expected pay rate is dependent on candidate experience and expectations but circa $500-700 per day inc super.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Assist in the execution of the Release Management processes inclusive of scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across the OCIO for multiple applications across various portfolios, i.e. Salesforce, MuleSoft, EDW, SAP, APIC, Environments, Data. Releases may be inclusive of Projects and Programs, application changes, operating system patches, security improvements, and hardware upgrades.
  • Assist in the coordination of recurring review and refinement of release content based on the prioritised business and non-functional backlogs, service requests, third party applications, or operating system/environment updates.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the Release schedule, balancing technical dependencies and business requirements, compliance and other priorities.
  • Assist in the Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews.
  • Assist in the coordination of the production of Release, Deployment, Run Books and Implementation Plans.
  • Work with release engineers to understand impacts of branches and code merges.
  • Produce regular Release Reporting and represent the Release program and status in OCIO ICT Change Management activities and release planning.
  • Ensure all OCIO ICT Change Processes are followed including Cyber assessments, Penetration testing, Go/No-Go gates.
  • Attend daily stand ups to review and discuss improvements.
  • Assist senior team leaders in any ad hoc activities to maintain best practice.

Our client is seeking an experienced Design Manager to oversee the design process for Renewable projects. This role will provide technical development, leadership, and advice on all aspects of a projects design including electrical, civil, and structural. Experience in HV design of Substations will be highly regarded. This role is focused on electrical design, but a general understanding of other engineering disciplines will be highly valuable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering design for substations and network connections, ensuring compliance with standards and customer requirements.
  • Continuously improve design processes for efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Ensure designs consider the entire asset lifecycle and liaise with stakeholders.
  • Review and approve engineering solutions, proposals, and manufacturer drawings.
  • Drive innovation in design practices and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Mentor design personnel and provide technical guidance.
  • Develop and implement design-related policies and procedures.

Key Requirements:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD design and solving complex engineering problems.
  • Expert in substation design up to 500kV, with knowledge of Australian Standards.
  • Experience integrating renewable power generation and BESS into grids.
  • Strong skills in design scoping, estimating, and preparing bids.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, OH&S Act, and ‘Safety in Design’ guidelines.
  • Experience with electrical design studies (e.g., cable rating, short-circuit forces).
  • Excellent communication, mentoring, and leadership skills
