We are currently recruiting for a Power Platform Developer to join a large government agency. This role is for an initial 6-month contract with possible extension options.

Position Purpose
The Power Platform Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining technical solutions using Microsoft Power Platform components, including Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven), Power Automate and Power Virtual Agents. This role supports the enhancement and optimisation of enterprise reporting and project delivery capability, ensures integration across systems, and delivers automated workflows to improve efficiency. The developer will also uplift business capability for sustainable management of these platforms while maintaining governance, security, and data quality standards.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in developing Power Apps applications (including Model-Driven Apps) and automating workflows using Power Automate
  • Hands-on JavaScript experience for client-side scripting, form customisation and extending Model-Driven App functionality
  • Strong understanding of API integrations, Power Platform custom connectors, and cloud data services (Azure, AWS). Experience integrating Power Platform solutions with other Microsoft services and third-party applications
  • Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance standards
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimise performance of complex workflows, applications, and data connections
  • Strong technical communication skills for collaborating with both IT and business teams
  • Experience in capability uplift and training for business users
  • Microsoft Power Platform certification (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft DevOps for change and release management
  • Understanding of enterprise reporting and delivery tooling

About the role
Our client, a well-regarded Queensland State Government agency, is seeking a Database Administrator to join their Information & Technology Branch on a permanent basis. The role supports mission-critical operational systems where availability, performance and data integrity directly impact frontline service delivery.
Sitting alongside a Senior DBA and working closely with infrastructure, application and security teams, you’ll own day-to-day database administration while also helping drive the team’s modernisation agenda – automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, and cloud adoption.

What you’ll be doing

  • Administering, patching, tuning and securing enterprise SQL Server environments (on-premises and cloud)
  • Designing and reviewing database schemas, indexes and stored procedures to support new and existing applications
  • Building and maintaining YAML-defined CI/CD pipelines for automated schema deployments and environment refreshes
  • Supporting cloud database services (Azure SQL preferred) and contributing to ongoing migration activities
  • Implementing backup, HA and DR strategies, and responding to incidents as part of an on-call rotation
  • Partnering with developers, architects and vendors to deliver secure, well-performing data solutions

About you

  • Proven enterprise DBA experience with Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, performance tuning, HA/DR)
  • Strong schema design and data modelling skills
  • Hands-on experience with cloud database platforms – Azure SQL, AWS RDS or equivalent
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines using YAML (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or similar)
  • Working knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (Bicep, ARM, Terraform) and scripting (PowerShell or Python)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams
  • Australian work rights and the ability to pass a criminal history check
