Contract details:

The Test Analyst will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and quality of structured and unstructured data migrated to a new Grants Management System. You will be responsible for developing and executing test plans, validating data migration processes, and identifying and resolving data discrepancies. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of the CGMS project.

Your key responsibilities

  • Test Planning and Strategy: Develop and document comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate the accuracy and integrity of data migration processes for the project.
  • Data Validation and Testing: Perform detailed testing of migrated structured data from CRM 2016 database to D365 Dataverse and migrated documents from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint online to ensure it meets quality standards, is complete, and aligns with the requirements of the project.
  • Defect Identification and Resolution: Identify, document, and track data discrepancies, errors, and defects during testing, and work with the data migration and development teams to resolve issues.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Liaise with project stakeholders, including business units, and external vendors, to ensure alignment on data migration requirements and testing outcomes.
  • Test Execution and Reporting: Execute test cases, record results, and prepare detailed test reports to provide visibility into the quality of the migrated data and the overall progress of testing activities.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to data migration and testing, and work with the project team to implement mitigation strategies to minimise disruptions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the refinement of testing processes and methodologies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of data migration testing.

Requirements:

  • The successful applicant is likely to have at least 3-5 years’ experience including data migration testing roles.
  • Proven experience in data migration testing, including the development and execution of test plans and scripts.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve data discrepancies and issues.
  • Proficiency in testing tools and techniques, including SQL for data validation and querying.
  • Familiarity with data migration methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience in working on large-scale data migration projects within a complex organisational environment.

  • Contribute to team knowledge sharing, process documentation and case discussions
  • Collaborate across the People, Capability and Culture branch to deliver coordinated solutions
  • Utilise workforce data to provide insights and support decision-making
  • Assist with coordination of projects, working groups, meetings and documentation
  • Undertake additional HR activities as required
