Works Planner - Electrical Maintenance

We are seeking an experienced Works Planner to support the planning and delivery of maintenance and works programs across a large electricity distribution network.
This is a critical coordination role, responsible for ensuring work is effectively planned, scheduled, and delivered safely and efficiently. You will work closely with field teams, planners, and stakeholders to optimise delivery outcomes, manage dependencies, and ensure compliance across all activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate works programs for field execution, ensuring safety and compliance at all times
  • Optimise scheduling, resourcing, and delivery planning to meet operational targets
  • Prepare and release work instructions and job packages for field teams
  • Coordinate network access, outages, and dependencies required for execution
  • Liaise with internal teams and contractors to ensure efficient delivery of works
  • Monitor and resolve scheduling conflicts, resourcing issues, and delivery risks
  • Support emergency response and dispatch activities when required
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of planning, scheduling, and delivery processes
  • Maintain accuracy across systems and data used for planning and reporting

Key Requirements

  • Experience within electricity distribution, transmission, or utilities environments
  • Electrical trade or relevant qualification (e.g. Cert III in Electrical Distribution or Engineering Diploma)
  • Background in works planning, scheduling, or field coordination
  • Strong understanding of network operations, maintenance, and construction activities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Experience working with planning/scheduling systems (e.g. SAP or similar)
  • Knowledge of safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements within utilities
