Workday Finance Specialist

Permanent Fixed Term 12 months | Parkville | Hybrid working
Up to $111,607 + superannuation + up to $15,000 salary packaging

We are seeking an experienced Workday Finance Specialist to join a purpose-driven not-for-profit organisation based in Parkville. This permanent fixed term role will support Finance and Procurement teams across the Workday Finance and Adaptive Planning suite, combining hands-on system support with continuous improvement, stakeholder engagement and user education.

The role

Reporting to the Senior ERP Program Manager, you will:

  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 functional support across Workday Finance and Adaptive Planning.
  • Manage the finance support queue, troubleshooting and resolving issues while coordinating escalations with the external Workday support partner.
  • Support Workday modules including Core Finance, Expenses, Budgets, Projects, Customer Accounts, Business Assets, Banking, Procurement and Accounts Payable.
  • Maintain and enhance Workday reporting to meet evolving Finance and Procurement requirements.
  • Gather and document business requirements and translate them into practical system improvements.
  • Investigate issues arising during testing and coordinate remediation activities.
  • Develop process documentation, user guides, training materials and system support resources.
  • Deliver end-user training and provide expert advice on Workday Finance, reporting and Adaptive Planning.
  • Support the implementation of new functionality, modules and third-party integrations.

About you

  • At least three years’ experience across finance systems, systems accounting, procurement or a related field.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Workday Financials, including configuration, business processes and reporting.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Workday Adaptive Planning.
  • Experience supporting or implementing enterprise finance systems.
  • Level 1 and Level 2 application support experience, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of finance processes such as general ledger, projects, expenses, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Experience developing test plans, executing system testing and working with third-party developers or support partners.
  • Strong business process analysis, documentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience with ticketing and knowledge-management tools such as Jira Service Management, Freshservice or Confluence.
  • A relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
