Wintel Engineer

• Contract till June 2026, with possible longer-term extension.
• Must have a minimum Negative Vetting level 1, and there is a strong preference for NV2 clearance.
• Long term contract/Permanent option available for the right candidate.

Avec Global, one of Australia’s fastest-growing consultancies, is building the “A-Team” in partnership with Defence research and science division. This elite group of consultants will work shoulder-to-shoulder with Defence science researchers to deliver mission-critical innovation, science and technology projects.

We are currently looking for Wintel Engineers to be responsible for undertaking the deployment, management and maintenance of a range Microsoft Windows-based server and desktop infrastructure.

Skills and Experience required:

Minimum of 5 years administering, managing and/or supporting more than one of the following:

• Microsoft Server 2019, 2022, 2025 – COE development and hardening
• Windows 10 and/or Windows 11 – COE development and hardening
• Microsoft Active Directory – Strong experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
• Virtualisation (VMware)
• Some experience or exposure to on premise cloud technologies is desirable
• PowerShell scripting
• Microsoft Configuration Manager (previously known as SCCM)
• Application deployment and patching
• Microsoft certifications and Tertiary studies in the field of IT are preferred

Security Clearance Requirements:

• Must have a minimum Negative Vetting level 1, and there is a strong preference for NV 2 clearance.
• Experience within Commonwealth Government, Defence, or a scientific research organization is highly desirable
